We are very seasoned travellers, visiting different areas one weekend every month, so we know what real quality is and this is it.
The cottage is beautifully furnished and is in a fabulous position too. We were left a luxury welcome hamper with too many wonderful treats to list, we couldn't quite believe it when we saw it. The furnishings were of such fabulous quality I noted the makers to order some for my own home!
Add to that that within 3 to 5 mins walk from door to door you have a traditional pub, a great restaurant and a nature reserve with a great cafe, all with the most breathtaking views and it just couldn't get any better. Bakewell was 2 miles down the road, but to be honest, we had everything we needed on our doorstep and such tranquillity, we didn't bother to go back into town after the first visit.
This is quite simply a nature lovers paradise. Can't wait to return!
Myself, hubby, 7 year old and 10 year old monkeys had a wonderful Easter short break at Courtyard cottage. The cottage was so lovely - really well equipped, warm, lovely soft rugs and throws with fabulous decor throughout. The bed in the main bedroom was just wow! The village of Over Haddon is so peaceful and the perfect location for exploring Lathkill Dale, Bakewell and surrounding areas. The welcome pack was also a really lovely touch. We would certainly stay here again.
From the moment of booking we had a good experience with the owners, Darren & Anne. Due to the heavy snow we had to delay our arrival by a day; they were happy to allow us to add the missed day onto the end of our stay, which was lovely of them. Cottage is furnished to a high standard and is very clean and cosy. We were greeted with a warm house and a welcome hamper. There is plenty to do in the area; including the Monsal trial and Lathkill Dale. The cottage provides a bundle of suggestions on what to do and where to eat in the local area. The cottage is a 5 minute drive from Bakewell, which has plenty of shops and restaurants.
