Room was clean, nice and big, comfortable bed and the location was perfect, right next to the beach and only 10 mins walk from the train station. The bar and restaurant was not open at the time but the breakfast was lovely.

Room clean, but shower head broken friendly staff but the whole b&b looked tired and need of updating. Breakfast was buffet but only cooked, bacon, scrambled egg, bake beans, hash browns, sausage but no cereals, fruit or yogurts which was disappointing.

Room Tip: Steep stairs up to the rooms.

On a recent 'trip down memory lane' visit with my mum, sister and niece, we walked from Margate to find our accommodation.
After reading some of the reviews on here, we were a little apprehensive at what we might find, but we were all very pleasantly surprised!

We were given a very warm welcome by Marc, and shown to our family room.
Steps up to the rooms are quite steep, so nor ideal for people less steady on their feet.

We were in Carisbrooke room, and again, after reading reviews on here, we were surprised once again! Our room slept 5, so was perfect for us. 1 double bed, 1 single and a sofa bed too. Towels were provided, along with complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities.

The beach of St Mildred is literally a minute walk from the hotel. It's beautifully sandy and there is a little cafe too!

There was no chef at The Knot at the time of our visit, but we were told we could order in a takeaway and eat in the restaurant area. Perfect! Marc set everything up for us, and tidied away when we'd finished, without rushing us! After dinner, we sat in the bar area and had drinks. It was pretty quiet, but I felt that made it a little more relaxing.

We all slept well, and were greeted by a yummy cooked breakfast! Sausages, bacon, scrambled egg and baked beans. Toast was bought to our tables! I'm vegetarian, and I found there was enough to eat for me.

Overall, our trip was fantastic! Marc is friendly, very helpful, and even offered to drive us back to Margate when the weather looked a tad rainy!

We'll definitely be going back with the rest of our families, as the location is perfect, and we were made to feel so welcome!

Give The Knot a try, don't dread your visit like we did!!

Thanks for everything Marc, see you next year! :-)

Stayed overnight at this B&B during Aug 2015 whilst attending a wedding reception here too. Great place, very friendly staff. Rooms were clean and though our room was small it was good enough to stop overnight. Reasonably priced. Happy to recommend.
Had a great night too.

Comfortable room, hearty breakfast and a great atmosphere in the bar. The manager Mark is a whirlwind of manic madness who keeps his beer good and his customers happy. I was well relaxed before my conference the following day.
