We came to this place after it was recommended to us by a local who told us about the owner's pizza oven from Italy. You are started off with yummy caramel popcorn which is different and fun. I had a caprese salad which was delicious. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and my husband had a "meat" pizza. They were both delicious. This is a big but thin and soft pizza that requires you eat it with a fork. We finished with gelato. I had fruit and my husband had the sea salt caramel (which he couldn't stop raving about). They completed our meal with a passion fruit cello shot that was delicious. We visited with the owners and enjoyed meeting them and hearing their story. We also happened to have one of the owner's from Elvis' Beach Bar in the restaurant and we had fun talking to him as well. We had actually spent the day watching his dog playing with a coconut at Shoal Bay East and discovered it was his dog. Such friendly people on this island!

The pizza can't compare to Italy's Pizzeria where it crunches, chewy and sauce melts in your mouth. He needs a better serving platter, perhaps stone, to keep the crusts from softening. The first couple slices were great but then the anticipation dies in the next slice, after that it's just eating. The four stars rating would be for their service, exceptional staff, very attentive, all worked as a team to care for all tables, and with the same great smile, worth the 20% tip, though there's a default of 10% service, but no worries, they take credit card!

The caramelize popcorn starts your anticipation. Very well tossed salad, not over seasoning. The 13-in pizza is a bit much for one, on top of the appetizer and desert. Our daughter loved her Italian sausage pizza. We tried the special lobster but we think fresh lobster belongs on a grill or steam. The homemade gelato divided us whether it's authentic or not, hard to find outside of Italy. But ending with complementary passion fruit celo will draw us back to try the traditional pizza and see if we can bump this to a 5 stars. Oh, parking could be tricky at night, unseen big bumpy rocks, take care of that rental.

We decided one night to visit Artisan since it wasn't here during our last trip. We went straight from our day on the ocean and sat at the bar at the Artisan. We loved speaking with the owner as he explained his oven and cooking process. He is extremely personable. The oven is amazing and it cooks the pizzas in under 2 minutes! The pizza is a thin crust pizza and is best eaten with a fork. If you want something just as good and thicker get the calzone. Both were great!

We stayed on the west end and we wanted to drive to the other end of the island and found Artisan. This is a cute little place on the side of the road. The folks that work here are eager to please and the food is great. We had the zucchini appetizer and shared a pizza. It was very good but I strongly suggest applying bug spray before your visit. We got lots of bites... they did fortunately offer spray to us which helped it from getting worse. Just wish I had been aware prior to our visit. Not much seating so make sure you have a reservation.

Delicious lobster pizza for two, Italian birre, sweet popcorn to start and passion fruit celo to close a great dinner. For only 37 dollars. And the staff is very nice indeed.
