“Great out-of-the-way lunch spot”

The Fickle Fig Farm Market
Restaurant details

A fantastic place for a great quality lunch, baked good, or breakfast sandwich. Casual, "farm-style" ambience.

Baked goods combine innovative flavours, and the local meat and veg selection is very good.

Well worth a try, especially on Sundays when they make the pastry cream stuffed Italian-style donut.

Drove along Mills Road one day to reach a destination, and saw this interesting place, just off the road, and with the sign saying Bakery and Bistro in addition to being a market, with obvious areas of growing of produce....and an area with farm animals and access for children to observe. The next day my husband and I went specifically for a late lunch; the soup that day was spicy carrot soup and bread (baked on the premises) our immediate choice. Excellent soup, flavor and consistency, and the bread beyond perfect! Small pleasant seating area.

Made a trip advisor account specifically to rave about this place. Stopped by after a yoga class and had a delicious kale salad and soup. As a celiac, I often find myself limited to soups and salad and I'm often left disappointed but I was very pleasantly surprised by the delicious and dynamic flavours. The service was friendly and informative; I felt very welcome, even in my sweaty post yoga state. Although I couldn't sample the bread, which is their specialty, it looked absolutely amazing and worth a try. Lots of awesome local merchandise available in the market. Looking forward to coming in for dinner when that becomes available in a couple weeks.

Great rustic location selling local produce and crafts. The staff are friendly and attentive, the baking is wonderful, their cinnamon buns sublime and their hot drinks amazing. I am a coffee drinker but their hot chocolate is not to be missed.
An added bonus they have baking classes so I tried one and it was so much fun.

They are only open for breakfast and lunch
