Overall location is hard to beat in Central Sydney. It's close to most attractions and transport for business and pleasure. City Hall train station, which is on T2 line and the last stop of the Sydney airport train, is diagonally across George Street from the hotel. Taxis are aplenty outside of the hotel. Supermarket, shopping, food courts, reastaurants, Darling Harbour, Hyde Park and Chinatown nearby.
Entrances to the hotel from George and Pitt streets. Spacious open lobby. Helpful doormen and bellboys. Didn't have a car so I can't comment about the expensive parking posted by others. Efficient helpful check-in staff. James was most accommodating and deserves special mention.
Secure lift access to rooms. Area outside hotel was safe and reasonably lit at night.
Room was on level 26 and was a "guest room plus". No special view - overlooks tops of buildings, but this is the same in any major city. There were no immediate adjacent tower/apartment block that looks straight into room. Room size and ambience good, and was clean and there were no smells. Needs slight touch up of paintwork in high traffic areas. King bed was very comfortable. Lighting was good. Loads of natural light during the day and just right amount at night. Light controls easily accessible from bed. Great privacy and blockout blinds. Good temperature controls.

Has a spacious work desk area with good lighting, comfy desk chair and stationery. Good size LCD TV with good range of cable channels and movies. Internet is not free unless HH member, so go ahead and join at check-in for this bonus. Internet speed is satisfactory.
Bathroom is small for a luxury hotel, plus the layout isn't the greatest in Sydney. The sliding door to the walk-in shower is tucked behind the bathroom door. There is a hand-held shower and rainshower, but the control for the rainshower was broken. Towels are white and fluffy, and don't smell of bleach. Satisfactory bathrobes. Slippers provided. Toiletries good.
Soundproofing from street was good. I didn't hear any street noise from level 26. But as previous posts commented on, there is noise from the corridors especially in the morning. Maybe hotel could consider adding a sliding door between main bedchamber and the passageway from door to room which may cut down on some of the noise of doors closing in the am. There is some noise from pipes when neighbours use bathroom in am, but this is common in other hotels.
Ironing board provided. No umbrella in room. Didn't use room service. Free bottle of water. Tea and coffee in room, but no Nespresso or equivalent coffee machine. Previously have been to Glass restaurant on same premises which is excellent. Couple of bars in building too. Didn't eat breakfast in hotel so can't comment.
The gym is huge. There's a lap-pool in the basement. So, not ideal for those guests wanting some sun, splashing or lounging around poolside. Great size spa. Steam rooms too.
Overall, great comfortable stay provided one can get it at a reasonable price and not the $500 rack rate.More
