We stayed 4 nights in March, loved the charm and quality of the hotel.Excellent location in walking distance of Circular Quay, Opera House and the CBD.Small pool but just fine for a plunge to cool down.We stayed in a large suite with views of the botanical gardens, absolutely loved it, thank you !!

Room Tip: As always, Suites are nice!!

Dear Valued Guests

We really appreciate reflective reviews that we receive from previous guests. Four nights is a good length of time to test a hotel and see that it delivers consistency and we are very pleased with 5 star rating. We have many New Zealanders on our team of 31 nationalities and they do love to look after our international visitors - especially our closest neighbours!

The heated pool on level 4 roof top is still being used, as the winter daytime temperatures are still in the 20's, but it would be fair to say the marble sauna is more popular. The hotel also has an in room massage service with very competent staff who bring their equipment into the room - very soothing after a long day shopping!

For international and interstate visitors there are several current shows like an "Officer and a Gentleman" and future shows like Opera Australias musical "South Pacific" that provide highlights for travellers looking for that something special during their city break.

Thank you again and return again soon.

My friend and I spent one wonderful evening staying in this gorgeous hotel. The location, near Circular Quay, was perfect for our lovely night out to the Vivid Festival...no transport worries, just a short stroll to the vibrant hustle and bustle of the Quay....and the beauty and tranquillity of the Botanic Gardens during the daytime.....what more could you ask for? The hotel foyer and lounge area had a definite 'wow' factor....very elegant and beautifully cosy with the heat from the fireplace. Our accommodation in a twin bedded room was lovely, beds and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom was huge and for us had the 'wow' factor too! We both loved the balcony and gazed with awe at the view that we had......Sydney Harbour is always a beautiful sight to see. The staff were welcoming, extremely polite and courteous. For my friend and I staying in this hotel was an extravagance, but it was worth every cent...and we intend to save up and stay there at least once a year. If you intend going to any event at Circular Quay, stay at Sir Stamford....it's a lovely experience!

Dear Valued Guests

We appreciate your choice of title "Absolutely Fabulous" as there are times we can imagine Patsy and Eddie, falling about laughing in one of our suites, ordering up room service and lounging around one of our 3 Steinway Grands. We are sure our team would be able to treat them in the manner that they are accustomed to - every guest here is a VIP.

Sir Stamford does offer a special experience and we are very pleased to learn that the extravagance was worth it. Choosing our hotel for Vivid was a very wise choice - as just around the corner on Circular Quay is the heart of the event. Next door the front of Customhouse buidling is my favourite light projection, but as you wander around all the way to Walshe Bay and back there are visual feasts tucked away on the cities fabuous foreshore.

PS - perhaps you should return for the Sydney Film Festival 6 - 17 June as one of the chosen venues is nearby at Dendy Opera Quays (two minute walk). www.sff.org.au

Kind regards and thank you again for your review

We stayed for two nights and really liked this hotel. We got a really good deal that included breakfast. Staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was lovely with buffet and cooked breakfast included. We also ordered room service and enjoyed the current singapore menu. Comfortable beds and excellent location, close to opera house and the Vivid festival. Also liked the size of the room and large bathroom with a bath which was great. The log fire in the front lounge is a nice touch. Have stayed in other Hotels in Sydney (mostly for business trips) that have cost more but are not as nice as the Sir Stamford. Very happy with our stay and will stay again in the future.

Dear Valued Guests

Our Melt into Winter package is one of the best we have ever had. Prices are never as low as the cooler months in Sydney, especially the mid winter weekends. There are fewer "tourists" and yet the city is absolutely radiant with autumn leaves and mild days. Vivid Sydney opened on Friday and is so popular you could hardly walk the waterfront without a tripod tripping you up. It's certainly a visual feast and lots of quirky pockets of light displays. Sir Stamford is just around the corner from the absolute centre of it all on Circular Quay and if you ask for a Philip Street room - especially one with a balcony you will be treated to the light display projected on the newly opened Museum of Contemporary Art.

We hope you will choose our hotel for business as well, as we have a select group of regular corporates, who have negotiated rates with us that reflect their return business. Don't hesitate to call Angela King our Associate Sales Director 0401145353 for an introductory rate.

Kind regards

We ended up at the Sir Stamford via Hotwire after a last minute scramble following bailing out of a horrible "other" hotel in Sydney. And we couldn't have been happier. Excellent bed, absolutely fantastic shower and refined service. Even managed to sneak in a trip to the gym which was small, but adequate. The heated outdoor pool had a beautiful view over the city but alas we ran out of time to take a dip. The only thing I would note is that the AC system didn't seem to get the room really cold - but it was adequate. Overall an excellent stay in a great location and hotel.

Dear Valued Guest

Lovely to hear your stay at Sir Stamford made your Sydney Experience 5 star, after a bumpy start. Choosing the right hotel is so important and there are many factors to consider from size to location. Having a good nights sleep on an excellent bed is our core business and we appreciate you mentioning this feature of our boutique hotel. We hope you enjoyed our warm lobby, with our winter fire going. We do get lots of visitors even guests from the next door InterContinental, as Sir Stamford is a step back into Sydney's historical past . The whole of Macquarie Street is a historical walk from the Mint to the Opera House.

Once again thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and we look forward to welcoming you back.

Kind regards
Heather Idoine

This is going to be a repetition of some of my previous comments. My lovely princess and I stayed here again last week for two nights and were impressed that they continue with the high standard previously set. There are not many hotels where the General Manager will join you in the bar or lounge to make sure you are enjoying your stay - Heather (the GM) does.
We booked well in advance and got a good deal on a lovely room on the 10th floor overlokking the Botanic Gardens and down the Harbour. Be aware that if you book through a third party your booking might not be what you expect. Check with the hotel.
The location and price are the best in Sydney. The ferries, trains and buses are five minutes away and you can catach a train direct to the airport. The Opera Houes is about seven minutes walk and The Rocks about ten so location is prime.
Our room was ready early and Kylie (?) at reception made us very welcome.and we were able to unpack and go out for the morning. The concierge Cod showed us to our room and explained all the necessary equipment. We had lunch in The Bar (a haven in a busy city) and recommend the chicken wings - senational.
Be aware that all rooms appear to be different. Ours had a large bathroom with one sink but we have been in others with a "his and hers" sink. Plenty of hot water and towels will wash away the cares of the day. We had a king bed and a choice of pillows, the flat screen tv had all we needed. Remember that your luggage spends more time in the room than you!. Try drinks in The Bar and if Ronny is serving ask him about his kick-boxing skills.
Evening drinks in The Bar are very good with a wide choice and knowledgeable staff. The weather was warm so we enjoyed the roof top pool several times.
This hotel is not glass and concrete but has a nice warm log fire in the lounge and is full of antque furniture. The staff are not antique and will really look after you.
I would again wholly recomend this place and we will be back in November.

Room Tip: Check your booking before you come so you get what you expect especially if you have booked through an agent or web site.

Dear Valued Return Guests

Thank you again for your very astute comments and recommendations about the rooms, The Bar and of course our team members. Kylie, Kieran and Remy are all professionals and we thank you for recognising them. Tomorrow night we will be holding one of our regular fireside General Manager Guest functions - this small wine tasting gives us the opportunity to introduce guests to our management team and also hear about their personal preferences and most of all hear about their personal experiences in the city. We learn from our guests which restaurants are "hot" and which are not. From Est to Wildfire, Nield Street to Apollo we get real visitors reviews and use this information to remain up to date.

We do appreciate your loyalty and hope that with so many stays, you have joined our Senators Club? The details are on our website - it does have excellent discounts off food and beverage and can be used at any of the other 7 beautiful hotels in Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. I recently visited Stamford Brisbane and was so impressed with it's riverside location and amazing Kabuki Restaurant.

Return again soon.
Sincerely
Heather Idoine
