“A gem”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

This gallery strives to be relevant and connect with both locals and tourists. For visitors I strongly recommend the Australian collections, especially the 20th century and the Koori (indigenous) works. The new Kaldor gallery (contemporary art) is without peer in Australia and should be on every ones to do list.

“Archibald and ArtExpress”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

I always go to the archibald each year and find it thoroughly moving, interesting, intriguing despite being a novice art buff. This year we were lucky to have our family visit coincide with the Artexpress works from the HSC students of 2011. My own daughter was a HSC student last year and whilst not an art student we were keen to see if the work of a friend was exhibited. Whilst it wasn't which was disappointing (they must rotate them?) we were thoroughly enthralled with the quality and diversity of what was displayed. Don't worry about the future of art in Australia - it is well covered if the talent of these students is anything to go by...deep, mind blowing, moving, clever - don't miss it. The two kids thought it more interesting than the archibald, sulman and wynne exhibitions!

“Picasso Exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

The AGNSW does it again with another blockbuster exhibition. Picasso has been one of my favourite artists since childhood. This exhibition was both vast and high in quality. A great gallery, with the flow of people well managed.
