“Pine Trees Along the Beach”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

So you have a shade! Manly Beach is easy to reach. Swimming in the ocean requires additional precautions against the sharks, stingrays and jellyfish. Make sure you swim within the flags and the nets.

“Manly”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

I took some visitors over to Manly to show them a different aspect of Sydney. Still very beautiful....nothing too much has changed. Nice walk through the town. Many surf stores and many restaurants. Very casual atmosphere and lovely coastal views all around. Better atmosphere than Bondi Beach. Well worth it to spend a day here and go to Shelly Beach for lunch or a drink which is just on the other side of the peninsula, if you have the time. Shelly is a very sheltered quiet beach if you don't come on a weekend. The restaurant, which is on the beach, is very popular so try not to come on a weekend.

“West or East or South from Ferry - all amazing”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

Step off the Ferry and A) Head West for a quiet river beach with a tree lined surround, at the end is a great water slide park for kids and a surf club with ocasional glimpses of local swimming legends.
B) head forwards then right into the main shopping/restaurant strip into the main surf beach. Awesome.
C) head straight right (East) for fabulous restaurant, or go to B) then head south on the boardwalk to a beautiful inlet for truly scenic delight, bodysurfing and cafe. Bill Bryson details his visit here in his book about Australia. Its not that scary! You might also see the Tony Abbott ( the opposition leader) there in his red speedos!
