“A good hotel to stay if you want to be close to the city and shopping mall.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2012

We spent Saturday night here and planned to go shopping in Ann St Mall and visit the art gallery and botanical gardens. All were in walking distance so we found the location was good. We had a one bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious. It had a kitchenette with stove and microwave, a washing machine/dryer incorporated in the bathroom and flat screen TVs in both the lounge and bedroom. Everything that we used was in good working order. The windows are double glazed so could hardly here the traffic and the noise from the hotel accross the road. The airconditioner was a little noisy at times but we were comfortable with it turned off over night. The service was friendly and helpful and we had our car valet parked overnight for an extra fee. This is included in some deals. Altogether we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Only downside is because of its heritage status they do not have a pool.

On our first trip to Brisbane chose to stay at the Rendezvous Hotel. This turned out to be a good choice as it is very much at the centre of everything of this bustling city and walking distance (30 minutes or so across the bridge) from the developing and fascinating South bank. All shopping and supermarkets are on your doorstep. The staff were good and attentive. Our room was a studio room it was clean and comfortable and was how it is described in the brochure. The lounge bar is very pleasant, however beware it is very very expensive even by Australian standards. Fear not, Brisbane is on a block system and just a couple of blocks down is a Big W supermarket and next to it a wine and beer shop.
We encountered a slight problem, when upon our return to our holiday in Perth noticed that our credit card had been charged with an amount we did not recognise. We contacted the hotel and true to their word they immediately looked into it and rang us back with an explanation and made the correction very quickly. I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again, however as I am a self-caterer I would choose the one bedroom apartment next time!

We stayed here for two nights in May 2011 and were happy with the stay. The rooms are pretty standard but nice and clean with a comfy bed. The staff were friendly, thought not very helpful when we asked for recommendations for somewhere to go to dinner. The hotel is a little out of the way but close enough that you can still walk around. We probably would find somewhere more central next time, but it's a nice hotel.

Spent three nights in the Rendezvous in Brisbane and had a lovely time. Staff were very helpful and rooms have everything you need. Booked a bus through Viator for our trip from the airport to the hotel on the Thursday night as we did not get in until late, but walked across the road to the train at Central Station for our trip back to the airport on Sunday. Walking distance to the Queens Street Mall and for a longer stroll, Southbank is not that far either. The soap in the rooms in lovely with a delicate lemon scent. Free internet at reception to do web check-ins for flights.

Great staff and location. I was on a quick visit to Brisbane and arrived late at the hotel, and left late the next day. The staff were very accommodating and helpful in every way possible. Nice room as well. I took the business package -- breakfast was so so; everything else was above par.

We have just stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel for three nights. We took the Airtrain to Central Station and walked accross the road to the hotel. (Should have taken the Airtrain back on Monday morning - Airtrain $32 for two, taxi $50 for two as the traffic was awful!) The reception staff were very helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and we had a kitchenette complete with cutlery etc and a microwave. Check in and check out was quick. Whenever they called taxis for us these arrived within minutes and we love the booking number system for taxis! At night there was a bit of noise outside with sirens etc. that the double glazing couldn't cope with and some noise from a pub that woke our friends who had a room on that side of the hotel. The central position meant we could walk to the function we were there to attend in the Queen Street Mall and to the river to eat at restaurants. The toileteries are good and, like JeanHH, I love the soap! Would stay again.
