As a big fan of Indian cuisine, I always try to find a good one on my travels. Well this one certainly is a good one. We were warmly greeted by a very friendly waitress. The food was delicious - we shared a portion of onion bhaji to start with - it came out sizzling! Superb! Our main dishes - a lamb dish (can't remember the name of this dish) and stir-fried okra with one portion of kashmiri rice and one garlic naan - all top-notch, tasty and ample portions! I note that a previous reviewer mentioned the lack of ambience - we sat outside, so I can't comment on this, though looking in, it did seem a bit soul-less. All in all, a very good value, delicious Indian meal!

The food was excellent, especially the flavours. We had Butter Paneer and Goan Fish curry, and, being asked how hot we liked it, said 'medium', which turned out to be really quite hot at first but not so eye-watering that you couldn't get accustomed and just enjoy it. The pappodums were a bit disappointing - dry cooked rather than deep fried - and the 'pickles' we asked for turned out to be a very small helping of lime pickle only. Service was polite and respectful without being engaging. The restaurant was completely empty at 7.15 pm and only one other couple came before we left which, together with the bright lighting and street-side, open setting, made for a rather ordinary ambience with little or no atmosphere. I'd go back for the food, but not on a special occasion.

So amazing that we live in a country where you can be in a remote, country town and still get such amazing tasting food from all over the world. It's a shame Royal Spice is tucked away down Warner st = although it's a bonus because it means it wasn't overly busy because of this. The food is superb...the service was a little...shaky...but not enough to detract from how good the food is. YUM!
