Description: The Courty as it has become affectionately known, is the oldest pub in Port Douglas and one of the most iconic pubs in Australia. We are located on the corner of Macrossan St (Port’s main street) and Wharf St (overlooking Anzac Park and the harbour). Behind the magnificent heritage Queenslander façade and wide open verandas is a much-loved full-offering local pub. This relaxed and welcoming neighbourhood pub is perfect for lunch, dinner, drinks or a night out on the town. Tailor your own experience at the Courty; whether it is casual large lunches with the whole family, afternoon cocktails in the sun with friends, a much-deserved cold beer, quiet corners for a quick bite to eat or late night celebrations on the open air verandas.

We had a smorgasbord of delicious seafood here. The box shrimp (delectable), the steamed mussels (amazing - comes with garlic bread to sop up the jus) and the best salt and pepper calamari ever. Great beer on tap and the best view on this side of the street--sit outside and enjoy the day --we did!

We had dinner at the pub on a Thursday. It's in a great location but that's all. Our meals were ordinary. I had the fisherman's basket with chips and salad and I wasn't overly impressed. The seafood was dry, poorly cooked and bland. For a basket it was pathetic considering the location. A couple of prawns, couple of scallops, couple of calamari rings and three small pieces of dry fish. The chips were scraps and the salad was a cheap coleslaw. My wife and son ordered chicken parmaggiana, the smallest parmaggiana I have ever seen and yes they were dry. Luckily the beer was cold.

Not sure if you go here for great meals... we selected this place as it offered a free children's meal (between 5 and 6pm). Otherwise the menu looks like any normal pub fare and prices ok if you consider this is far north Queensland.

Sitting on the deck is lovely as this gives a fantastic outlook of the seashore area and the hotel is beautifully looked after. For people without kids they offer regular bands and other events.

Good location and atmosphere, but expensive. Went on a Monday for dinner at 6pm, and they'd run out of prawns, mussels and oysters! The steak was an average meal, but the rest of the food was ok. Would probably return for an overpriced beer again, but don't think I'd eat here again.
