Of course when you're in Rocky you have to have a steak dinner because Rocky is the beef capital of Queensland. We dined on Friday night which happened to coincide with some bucking bull trials hitch is held in an arena at the back of the pub. Rain or shine the event goes on and thankfully there's a large roofed area covering the arena. Both locals and international backpackers crowd the arena to joy this experience. The animals appeared to be well treated and often came out on top of the challenge, that is they bucked off their riders. The meal was well cooked and were more than accommodating when dealing with my challenging dietary requirements. After dinner, a few wines and beers, and the bull riding events we were taken back to our hotel in the courtesy bus driven by one of the friendly staff members. Would recommend you look up the timetable for the arena events and try to book a table ring side - it'll be worth it.
