Of course when you're in Rocky you have to have a steak dinner because Rocky is the beef capital of Queensland. We dined on Friday night which happened to coincide with some bucking bull trials hitch is held in an arena at the back of the pub. Rain or shine the event goes on and thankfully there's a large roofed area covering the arena. Both locals and international backpackers crowd the arena to joy this experience. The animals appeared to be well treated and often came out on top of the challenge, that is they bucked off their riders. The meal was well cooked and were more than accommodating when dealing with my challenging dietary requirements. After dinner, a few wines and beers, and the bull riding events we were taken back to our hotel in the courtesy bus driven by one of the friendly staff members. Would recommend you look up the timetable for the arena events and try to book a table ring side - it'll be worth it.

Really fast service and huge, tasty meals. We ordered straight from the specials board. We'll be back when we're next in Rocky.

Being the beef capital of Australia, I was expecting a fantastic steak. Sadly it was quite disappointing, the steak was very average, nothing special at all about it. Good serving sizes, although more on the expensive side. Garlic bread came out after the mains which was annoying. Definitely not my favorite place, won't go back in a hurry.

This is an awesome Queensland pub, not only is this a pub it has an under cover rodeo/stadium joined on. In the rodeo/stadium hanging from the roof is a helicopter, heaps of seating, lots of room and a bar when the rodeo is on its a great night out they also have bands play here.

Loved the country atmosphere of this hotel. We were travelling through and thought we would get one of their famous steaks into us. It was very quiet the night we went and were out the back where we were able to watch and support women barrel racing, which was entertaining and added to the overall country and western atmosphere. The steaks - brilliant even for a person that does not overly eat much meat. Thumbs up!!
