“Love the food! A great hotel!”
Reviewed 19 March 2012

We had a great time. Citrique buffet was the best seafood buffet I've had. Benihana...awesome food the day spa was also lovely. The new renovations in the executive level seem a little half done but still very nice. Plus I miss the old fans in the entrance they gave the place a real holiday feel. Elandra canapes were great along with the friendly service from both of the evening staff. Our second stay at the Marriott we will definately stay again

The hotel is simply stunning with the amazing decor that has now been updated from the rooms, the lagoon, lobby and restaurant. Jenny from the front office team, is incredible and helped me and my partner any chance she could. But with saying this, every single staff member that I came across had a high level of professionalism and standards. I could be here all day raving about this hotel, but I'll let you make your own memories.

Room Tip: We were there for our one year anniversary, just let slip that your there for that reason if you are...

We loved the Marriott Surfers Paradise. I chose it because of recommendations about the pool. The pool was great, with a shallow sandy lagoon area which was safe for smaller children, and a deeper area with rocks and live fish that was fun for older children and adults to snorkel. The water slide is not suitable for children under 7-8, so another slide, perhaps in the lagoon pool would be good for them.
We had a suite which had a little foyer and powder room, then an average sized living room with a dining table for 4 and a little balcony with a lovely view. The bedroom was separate and large, with a big bathroom and another little balcony and good view. It was quiet. Nearby were some parks and lovely walks along the beach. It is about a kilometre's walk to Tedder Avenue (the only civilised part of the Gold Coast for shops and cafes).
We ate at Benihana, which was a big hit with the children (the chef chops the food up wildly, creates fires, tosses up prawns for parents to catch in their mouths); also at the restaurant Citrique, where I had a delicious stir fry of prawns and bugs in a spicy Asian broth, and had room service. Not everything on the menu appealed, but we were very pleasantly surprised and loved our choices.
The concierge was helpful at booking tickets for Wet'n'Wild and Seaworld, and worked out the cheapest combination for these. Also - booking through him meant we went straight through on arrival at the attractions without having to queue.
Our friends (also staying there) also enjoyed the hotel but found the breakfast very expensive - we bought cereal and milk and fruit at the supermarket.
We plan to return to this hotel in the future.

This is a fantastic hotel in a superb part of the world.
I stayed in sea view room on the 20th floor, wow.
Hotel staff are so friendly, food is top class and you will love the pool, fish are a nice touch.
I would recommend anyone to stay here.
I will return
Hopefully soon.

Room Tip: Try and get sea view.

This motel was not in our budget, but was well worth it after a long drive through the country. It was nice to relax for a few days before we continue. Recommended.

Very welcoming as soon as you arrive. A glass of bubbly is offered as soon as you arrive at reception. Very friendly staff at reception. The hotel has been renovated since we were last there and it is looking beautiful. Love the foyer! We had a package so breakfast and dinner was included (luckily because it was pouring rain outside which meant we didn't have to go out and find somewhere to eat!) One word of advice though, you must book for dinner because if it is a buffet it is very busy! The buffet was amazing!

Room Tip: Maybe choose a higher floor, but the hotel seemed very quiet inside. Package deals are very good va...

We stayed hear over christmas and of course it is generally more expensive at this time of year. We loved the day sala by the pool as we have two small children and it was a great place to rest out of the sun. We also had a teenager with us and she was kept happy as well. The rooms have plenty of space which we really liked and the view was excellent. You don't need to book a room with an ocean view. You will still get a good view of the ocean from the rooms at the back of the hotel. Especially if you are on a higher floor. The Japanese restaurant was entertaining for all of us and the food was good. The staff and chefs were happy to keep the kids entertained and focused on them during dinner which was nice. Buffet dinner is overpriced.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor to get a view of the ocean without paying the extra charges.
