“Nice place, clean & quiet.”
Reviewed November 10, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We stayed here for four nights and found it to be comfortable and reasonably quiet which is important to us. The grounds are very nice with Blackbird, Wattlebirds & other Honeyeaters flitting about. There are nice Restaurants nearby and the City of Hobart is an easy 5 minute drive away.
Our only issue was the lack of Wifi which was a minor annoyance.

Hello Steve, Thank you for leaving such a lovely Review which will help to bring other guests to stay at 19 Blue!
Our apologies about the lack of wifi - we have tried, in the past routing our broadband up there, using an extender, but then guests complained about the weak signal so we decided not to offer it all! We are always happy to lend guests our mobile broadband stick but most seem to use their smartphones to gain access.
Glad you enjoyed the birds, they are a passion of ours - we sometimes get Black Mountain Parrots in the trees outside the kitchen window! Happy Travels, Judith & Chris.

We stayed at 19 Blue for 10 nights. It was a fantastic location 10 min from Hobart CBD. Close to beaches and great restaurants. Our favourites were Bombay on the Beach Indian and On the Beach at Blackmans Bay. Close to Kingston Beach. Great place to use as a base and travel around.
Our hosts Judith and Chris were lovely. It was the little things that made the difference.

19 Blue is a mobile home in the grounds of the owner's property. It is on the side of a hill overlooking the Blackman's Bay area which is a lovely area. You can see the sea and the sweep of the hill which is like an enormous amphitheatre from the kitchen/diner/lounge. It is a wonderful sight. .
On arrival everything we needed and a few well chosen additions were available. The accomodation is clean and nice. The shower was excellent. All facilities that you would need are there and easy to use. The owners are friendly and helpful.
The area is very special. You can swim in the bay which is a part of the Southern Ocean, nothing between you and the Antarctic but the sea is warm.
Local shopping is easy and there are good restaurants in the Bay.
We feel so pleased we found this place with these lovely people and would recommend it to anyone we know.

“Wonderful place to stay and wonderful hosts”

19 Blue is located some 15 km south of the Hobart CBD but for anyone with a car this is only a short drive up the Southern Outlet freeway. It is a great base to explore the region - Hobart, Salamanca market, Huon valley, Bruny Island, Port Arthur, Tasman national park, nearby wineries, etc.

The accommodation is quite adequate for a short or longer stay. The kitchen is well equipped and delicious provisions are provided for the first few days breakfasts. The hosts - Judith and Chris - are friendly but also allow you your own privacy.

They also run 'Live History Hobart' that provides performances to help your appreciation of the history of Hobart and its people. 'Her story' was a poignant insight into the tough and often ignored experience of female convicts. Daily at the Female Factory in southern Hobart.

Everything is catered for in this well set up home away from home. Judith was a good host and the breakfast of bacon and eggs was much appreciated. She offered us access to the nectarines and vegetables from the garden and also had eggs from their chooks for us. It is close to beautiful Kingston beach and Blackman bay beach. I would highly recommend this to visitors to Hobart.

“Well thought out”
Reviewed January 6, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Many thanks to the owners, Judith and Chris, for providing such a comfortable place to stay close to Hobart. While the rented unit shares the property with the owner's house, the lush, well tended garden around it gives lots of privacy and creates beauty. It is actually nice knowing where to find the owner if there is a problem, not that we had any. Judith, it was so nice to meet you. Thank you for the lovely welcome.

Every little detail was thought out to provide a comfortable stay at 19 Blue. I enjoyed the breakfast supplies including fresh baked bread, butter, home made jam, fresh eggs, bacon, delicious yoghurt, fruit preserves, milk, coffee, tea, and more. There is plenty of space for 2 people, spacious bathroom, comfortable seating, heater if necessary, and even a washing machine. We had only one very small discomfort, and that was that the bed was too hard for us - but others may not be bothered by this. I very much liked the bedding which included duvets and sheets, which meant that we were comfortable in all temperature conditions. I would also like to comment on the fact that the house was spotless. I so appreciate that!

Instructions for getting to the location were very clear. We were delighted with the well kept appearance and the nice decorating. It is very easy to get to Hobart from here, although you can certainly find enough to keep you interested close by - with beaches and walks, and even shopping and restaurants. In fact, we were so comfortable at 19 Blue that we simply relaxed at the property for a whole morning instead of running off to do sightseeing. So peaceful.

Another note would be as to the Wi-fi. It is offered, but service is very weak and spotty. My husband would say that is a good thing since I spend too much time on my computer anyway. So this isn't a complaint, just a comment.

We highly recommend 19 Blue.
