Nice place, great position. I enjoyed my stay. After returning home sometimes sit and smile at your experiences. This is one of those places.

we stay in the private room share bathroom, The hotel located in the great location in the CBD. Close to supper market coles KFC, Mc Donalds and the Train Station. The Room is good the Bathroom is clean for the first day we arrive, after that you have to imagine. There is a pub on the first floor. The kitchen is good we have a lot of cooking while we are there.
The staff is really good.

I stayed at this hostel on the night of the AFL grand final so it was a really busy time in Melbourne. We were pleasantly surprised with our twin room considering the reviews we had read. Even had a TV that we werent expecting. Reception area was busy and girl at desk not exactly enthusiastic ... but are they ever at hostels?? All in all a good place to stay but you need to be high up as the bar on the 2nd? floor is very loud. (I always take ear plugs to hostels)

the 2 nights stay here wasn't really pleasant at all. besides the great location, everything was a nightmare. the toilets and bathroom is dirty and it stinks! i would need to think twice before using it, if not, i was forced to use it. one of the worst hostel i've ever stayed so far. we booked a 4 beds dorm and it was small, doesn't have much space for us to walk after putting our luggage on the floor.

This is the worst backpackers that I had ever stayed in Melbourne CBD. Melbourne is a nice place to visit with nice scenery, friendly people, convenient with food outlet everywhere and etc. but once you stepped into flinders station backpackers, you will definitely have a second thought whether Melbourne is a good place to stay. IYou will somehow feel that you have got cheated by those heartless managers of this backpackers. They intentionally put up nice pictures which actually makes you feel you cant wait to go there and experience what those people in the pictures are enjoying but once you stepped into its lift, you will start to have an awful feeliing of want to run away but you cant do so because they have already taken a 5% deposit when you book on9. So, readers out there consider this backpackers only when all hotels or backpackers go bankrupt or the other extreme, charge you more than AUD1000 per night or else dont stay here.

I've stayed in a few hostels and you get what you pay for. Unfortunately the Flinders Station Hotel costs a bit more than what you really get (even internet use is an additional charge) beyond that the location is perfect. Right downtown, directly beside Flinders Station, the Melbourne Aquarium is only a few blocks away, and its a short walk across the Yarra River to great dining on the Southbank Promenade.

Our first experience of backpackers accommodation in Australia. In hindsight it was more expensive than the average backpackers in Australia (we stayed in Sydney for half the price). The room was clean, cool and comfortable with the added bonus of a TV. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and toilets/showers were plentiful in supply. The kitchen was dirty and the staff faced a constant battle in cleaning it as the guests didn't seem to care. Breakfast was free (bonus)!!! The rest of the social areas seemed unclean and overrun with young drunken backpackers - we avoided this area completely. Good location to explore Melbourne as near trams/trains and buses.
