Stayed here on our last night in Melbourne - on holiday from Perth. Disappointing to find the hotel reception was nowhere as nice or fancy as Crown Perth. Room were nice with spacious bathroom - shower is amazing. Bed and pillows were comfortable at first but not great to sleep in. Order room service dessert - really nice. Didn't realise when booking that Metropol isn't connected to the casino - you need to walk outside/across the road. Not great in Winter we found. Will stay at the Promenade or Towers next time,

Thank you for your review.

Firstly, our apologies that the design of the property was not to your liking and I am happy to discuss your comments further if you wish. My contact details can be found at this end of this correspondence.

For the benefit of other readers, we are connected to the rest of the Crown complex via an internal air bridge located on level 1 of the hotel. This is fully enclosed so guests do not need to face the winter elements outside!

Hopefully we can welcome you back to Crown Hotels in the near future.

Kind regards,

Harley Moraitis

Recently stayed for 3 nights as a family with 2 teenagers 16 and 13. The facilities are top notch and the rooms are very well laid out spacious, plenty of space in the bathrooms for everyones toiletries. if you like feather/down pillows you are in for a treat, as a family we don't, so asked for more supportive pillows and they were provided by housekeeping the next day. The bathroom has plenty of shampoos/conditioner and even a little pack containing things you may have forgotten, shower cap, sewing kit, eye makeup remover pads, cotton buds. They even have soft plush dressing gowns and thongs to go to the pool area on level 27. The pool is amazing views spectacular! definitely take your cozzies. The sky bar is a must visit beautiful furnishings and amazing views. We were staying with another family and wen we went up we realised the main section was full so as we looked around the young man serving ushered us to the member section as there was only a couple of people in it and sat us down in the lounge area then provided bowls of nibbles while we ordered our drinks. Very good service. Thank you! Overall Crown Metropole is a beautiful hotel and the service was exceptional. Yes I would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night on our way to a conference, and chose this hotel really because of its proximity to Southern Cross station and the SkyBus, however we could not fault either the staff or the facilities. I would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Melbourne in the future.

We got a river view. Not worth paying extra for.

We got a bottle of French champagne for $80 but it's $50 from Dans so take your own.

The staff where friendly enough (unlike the Crown Towers who were snooty and reluctantly helpful).

The room on the 29th floor was very nice, clean, well maintained (though the curtain pull rod came off in my hand leaving the curtains partly open), of a high standard.

The facilities at Crown are superb catering for everyone's taste so no one can grumble.

The cost was $320 including the champers, so I will let you make your mind up on the VFM. For me, there are only a few better in Melbourne so for special occasions it's great but for a routine overnighter there are those that are better VFM.

Yes we will go back, not sure when!!

Stayed 5 nights on business.

The overall experience is satisfactory.

The location is quote close, within like 15 min walking from the heart of restaurants, cafes and the nice Melbourne's lock bridge.

As there are several Crown hotels in the area, a suggestion on taxi from the airport to this hotel, is to ensure you let the driver know exactly which Crown hotel you are booked or else like me, you could be dropped off in another Crown hotel and pull your luggage in the late night.
