We stayed here on an organised group bus trip, from country NSW to see the football at the MCG.
Easy to find, parking out the front, underground parking for guest's vehicles.
Check-in was a breeze, no hassles.
The only issue at this stage was a few of our travelling companions, who took some time to work out that you have to swipe your card in the lift THEN press the floor you need...lol. some had 3 trips via reception before they worked it out!
The rooms were roomy & spotless.
Much bigger than a couple of the other Ibis properties I've stayed in.
The bathroom was large & on the same level as the room...no stepping up into a pod!
Spotless bathroom, toiletries & hairdrier supplied.
Flat screen TV worked well, & the beds were comfy.
We got back from the footy & decided to use the Grab & Go Menu, which we had to go down to reception to get. It's been in the other Ibis rooms I've stayed in.
A good selection, but a bit pricey...$10 for 3 scoops ice-cream & a thin squiggle of choc topping was a bit rich, but all that was available without leaving the hotel. The vending machine on Level 3 was broken, which was a pain, as we would've been happy with something from there.
We went across to the Queen Victoria markets for breakfast, & found a nice little cafe tucked away in one of the lanes. didn't eat at the Ibis bistro/restaurant.
Checkout was again not a problem. Staff were friendly and helpful.
All in all, a good stay, would recommend to other travellers without hesitation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, as it's much quieter.

Once you get your bearings the location is pretty good. Victoria markets are nearby and the hotel is in CBD which is handy for the shops and trams. On arrival I wasn't sure about the room, it had grey net curtains and the view overlooked offices and a derelict area but it was spotlessly clean and the bathroom and other pieces of furniture were decent and modern. The reception staff were pleasant and although we didn't dine at the restaurant, it looked pretty decent.

The price is reasonable. It is very near to Queen Victoria market. Arrived there at around 10 am in the morning but I could check in straight away, which is very convenient. Melbourne central is at the walking distance and the hotel is in CBD which is well located for major shopping areas and universities.

The reception staff are very helpful and the location is brilliant for the northern edge of the CBD,parking is $5 too dear considering it is actually on-site compared to other city hotels. The rooms are modern , small but are great value. The cleaners however forgot to empty out the fridge from the previous guest,on reporting this, the reception staff were genuinely embarrased by their slack fellow employees. The breakfast offerings were predictable but with no pricing option for just coffee & toast,it makes for expensive toast (& the room is huge bright & unwelcoming)..For all the 'ordinaries'..the staff & location make up for it.We will stay again.

Room Tip: Inspect the room for the best view and Eat out
