Amazing to see the sites of Melbourne from the melbourne Star, however it seems to just go so slow. It could go slightly faster I think. I was worried I’d be claustrophobic in there but it was really spacious!

Melbourne wheel is the only way to view the whole Melbourne. One of the best activity to do in melbourne.

We went for our first ride of the wheel on Easter Sunday. Purchasing tickets was very easy with special rates for the school holidays. With each adult ticket purchased for $36 a child could ride free (normal rate $22). Additionally binoculars could be purchased for $14.95 (saving of 25% if you book in advance). The binoculars came in handy to keep them entertained inside the wheel, and would recommend. Additionally the complimentary 'tote bag decorating kits' as a pre-ride activity were invaluable as activities/distractions 20 minutes in to the 30 minute ride when they declared it "boring". The emergency button had already been pushed at this point to my embarrassment hence need for distraction!
Although not comparable in terms of excitement or splendour to the London Eye for example, the Star remains an engineering feat with stunning views and reasonable commentary, and overall a good way to spend some time in Melbourne with the family.

It’s a great experience to see the beauty of entire Melbourne city in one go. We went in the night so the view was spectacular with the lights on. It takes about 30-40 mins to complete a round and you got lot to look around within that time. The lights of the Melbourne star is very eye catchy and creates a nice scenery. If it rains on the day of the flight they offer you a ticket just for 2AUD that can be utilized within 30days. We had a nice time and enjoyed the beauty of Melbourne from a helicopter view.

and promise we didn't touch anything ! Easter Saturday, mid-afternoon, sunny clear day. Great views, interesting commentary. Small stops along the way - a bit unnerving, given the history of operation. We had booked tickets on-line but were a bit flummoxed on arrival about where to go... had hilarious escapade trotting through crowd barriers when we apparently could have gone straight to the boarding area - this stuff is not clearly explained or marked or signposted. Especially when you disembark and discover only an up escalator. (There is a down one much further along.) Learned through media that there are emergency kits on- board (including portable urinal) for those lengthy, unscheduled stops. Just in case ...
