We asked for a deluxe room , if that’s what we got I dread to think what the standard room size is. We had a one bedroom apartment, with a tiny kitchen, the smallest lounge area I have ever seen, I could reach out and almost touch the TV from the couch, tiny dining table all in one little cramped room. The bedroom only had room for one bedside table, it had plenty of shelving and another TV. Bathroom was a decent size also with plenty of shelving .There was no where to store our suitcases except standing up on the equally small balcony.
It was very noisy and when other guests were entering our leaving their apartments it sounded like they were coming into our apartment, due to the paper thin walls

Very comfortable and stylish rooms. Inexpensive when booked on cheap travel sites- very good price obtained for a high class room. Have stayed multiple times now

I, like the other recent traveller, was nervous about having booked here after seeing such bad reviews come up. We stayed at Milano for 3 nights, at quite a reasonable price, in a one bedroom apartment. The good things: A good apartment with everything you need (kitchen, washing machine bathroom), even for such a small place. The service was also good, unlike the other reviews. We didn't find noise an issue, but had request the highest floor possible. There are a lot of asian students living there, but we never had any noise issues. The average things: Don't get it if the balcony is a selling point, it's tiny and the heatpump unit takes up half of it! We also had dirty marks on our walls, but everything else seemed clean. The Aldi next door is not great, a kind of bulk alternative supermarket, so don't think you can go there and get regular foods! Overall, it was good value for money for an apartment. We would stay here again, but don't expect complete perfection!

I was quite apprehensive about staying at Milano because of the very mixed reviews but the price for an apartment was cheaper. I booked 3 I bedroom apartments. The night before our stay Milano phoned to say they had had a flood on one of the floors. The result was 2 couples could share a 2 bed 2 bath apartment and the other couple(me) could have a 2 bed 1 bath upgrade for the original price. The rooms were clean and spacious. I found the desk clerks and all other staff, friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was open and clean. There are a lot of Asian students who live on higher floors in the building. The lift is a bit tricky but once you have mastered it it's ok. The apartments are in an excellent location. We walked to the night club-Draculas, Lygon St restaurants, Museum, Aldi (next door) and the shopping district. There is construction across the road which starts at 7 am and the wifi is unreliable. I would certainly stay at the Milano again.

We continually get good service from Milano. We booked a 2 br suite one night and 1 br the next night, and the upgraded us for free the second night.

Unfortunately there is currently a construction site right opposite the apartments, and yes there are jackhammers at 7am. You could probably ask for a room away from the road.

Only criticism is that the rooms are starting to look a little tired. Grubby marks on walls and chairs, and there was a hole in the wall where the door handle had bashed.

Having said that we will continue to return while they do good prices. Wouldn't spend more than $150 for 1 BR, and if you get it for $100 you have a bargain.

Room Tip: While there is a construction site, ask for room away from the road. Also if swimming pool is important make sure it is working.
