We go here often. Had one of the banquets and it was fab. So many courses. All very tasty. Excellent value. Good service.

On the outside it doesn’t look like much but it’s all about the food. The staff are incredibly helpful and the Shanghai style Pork Belly is to die for. Seafood dishes were perfectly cocked and full of flavor. Well worth the visit.

First night in Melbourne and decided to have dinner here. It was myself, my husband, my 6.5mth old baby, and my friend. I liked that they had an elevator so it was easy to take baby up to the eating area with the pram. We chose to go with banquet B. It was reasonably priced and got heaps of food, which we were not able to finish. The food was delicious and the service ok. The only thing I didn’t like was how tight the space was in the restaurant.

Our favourite food spot for lunch as you can make your own special dishes up for a light lunch. Prices are reasonable for both food and drinks. Service is poor though with you having to keep asking for the staff to come over to serve you. This is outweighed by the food quality

If this is the place at 171 Little Bourke Street just off corner then I give it a one star only. The poor experience commenced with being seated in corridor to toilet and kitchen with constant stream of people pushing past. We ordered a C banquet that featured the signature Peking duck dish. It was tasteless and terrible. The skin which should have been crispy and flavorful had instead the texture and taste of plastic. The salt and pepper calamari was inedible. When we asked the waitress to wipe down the table after the banquet mains before the desert because there was quite a bit of food particles left on table she said they can’t do that. When an older man who looked like the owner came to deliver the desert he put spoons right on top of food particles left from banquet. At the end of a very average desert we asked for the bill and the waitress queried why we were not leaving a tip. When we told her why she didn’t apologize. So we won’t be ever going back there when we visit Melbourne again. When you name your restaurant by Peking Duck Restaurant you should make it great even if it’s part of a banquet course and not something of such inferior quality. Lucky we didn’t just order Peking Duck as the $110 for 2 with drinks bill would have been a complete waste as the other dishes like San Chou pou, corn soup, fillet beef and vegetables were ok.
