Breakfast in Freo - you don't need to go to the bigger places on the main road. Check this one out. The food was delicious and the prices reasonable. Service great too. The lunch dinner menu looked very inviting so will go back there next time we are in Freo.

We have been twice now in one week to Cafe D Freo. Run by a delightful Nepalese family where the chef son trained in Italy and was then at the excellent Il Lido in Cottesloe. The service is exceptional. You are met with warmth and welcomed. The crab linguine is amazing and the capreto (baked goat) cooked slowly over 8 hours to perfection. One of the best examples of goat we have eaten anywhere. This restaurant is really good value and as Freo locals we plan to return regularly now we have discovered this cafe

We were lucky enough to try this delightful restaurant with a special deal for 4 people. From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome with delightful attentive staff. The food was above our expectations.. attention to presentation and fresh delicious ingredients.. We enjoyed the arancini balls which were the best we had ever eaten.. filled with brown rice, mushrooms and truffle oil. The pastas we chose were again some of th best we have enjoyed anywhere. One with veal ragu and the other shredded tender pork with jus.
The portions were generous and everything about our evening at this lovely cafe was perfect. We shall definitely return.

We loved this place. Our waitress was a little bundle of happiness and certainly contributed to a great experience, but the key is always the food and although there is nothing flashy about the menu the food is excellent. My arancini were perfectly cooked and my wife's bruschetta was huge, and tailored to her preferences, while the home made pasta ( vegetarian ravioli for her and linguine with tiger prawns and chilli for me) was as good as you'd get on Italy.
Seek out this unpretentious, but perfect spot when you're in Fremantle and you won't be disappointed.
