We stay at the Mercure when ever we travel as we have always found them very classy and well worth the price. However. This Mercure fell we’ll below par. The rooms look rushed or dodgy made. Power points crooked.

In room 1327 the soap deck in shower was broken and stuck back together. There were holes in walls that were bogged up.
No microwave or kitchen facilities.
Only fox sport on Foxtel. No entertainment.

When we continuously got woken up by construction sight right out our window Amy was very polite and quick to help us move room.

The Beccaria restaurant is a total rip off. $18 for pepper squid and there was only three pieces. What a scam. Three small pieces between two people. Really ?

The coffee is lovely and well priced at $4.50. However when you order it, the bartender serves everyone else (opening bottles of wine, pouring beer etc) before they make your coffee. It is as if I was putting them out to make it.

Good central location to everything.

Cleaners were always delightful.

All up. If it was not for most the staff I would be giving this location one star.
Very disappointed indeed. Mercure u have let me down.

Stayed here for 2 nights for Work, the bathroom is dated and needs some updating but the size of the bathroom and room is large.
Gym is great with machines and weights, I had breakfast twice via room service and the food was great. Gluten free bread and almond milk were available

I stayed here for one night. When I checked in to my room I noticed that the bath mat was already on the floor which I found was a little odd as I'm used to seeing it hung up when you first arrive. Then I noticed that the hand towel wasn't folded properly as well. I was going to let that go. Although when I noticed that there was a dirty used mug in the bathroom and a soap wrapper in the bin, I thought this room must have not been cleaned well. I called reception and they moved me to another room in the same floor. The hallway smells like wee. The following morning I used the gym and the water filter tank did not have any water in it. The bed is clean but the utilities around the hotel and housekeeping is not a 100%. I probably wouldn't stay here again for my business trips.

We arrived at midnight and check in was fast and friendly. What they didn't tell us was that we would be woken at 7:00 AM on Saturday morning to building works. After speaking to reception on Saturday morning we were moved to another room in a different wing. Our room was a down grade so the gave us free breakfast for our stay. At least it was quiet. Room was ok but bathroom was very dated. It really needed to be fully renovated. Bed not that comfortable but otherwise room ok. Staff here were excellent. They gave great service and made a point of saying good morning every day. By day 3 had our coffee order down pat. Ate at restaurant. Food was ok ( we paid half price due to Accor discount) but air conditioning was way too cold. Also ate at bar- this was great. Big servings and hot food. Happy hour perhaps could stretch out a little longer. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. On our last night we had paid extra to have our room until 6:00 PM. Our flight out was delayed until 1:00Pm so we enquired if we could have our room until 8:00. Response was - no you'll have to pay another full room rate. Really. As a gold Accor member I paid for my own late check out and then they wanted another full rate for an extra 2 hours. No one was going to be using our room. It is for this reason I will not go back and stay here. Instead of allowing us extra time in an unoccupied room we sat and waited in the bar until closing (10:00PM) the went to the airport. Obviously no advantage being an Accor member at this hotel. Next time I'll try the IBIS.

Dear Tracey, Thank you for your feedback on your stay with us. It seems that there were positive an negatives for you during you visit.
I am happy to see that the team assisted you with your room move as indicated. I am sorry to see that we were not as flexible as we could have been in regards to the later check out you requested. I agree this could have been handled better for our side.
Thanks again for your comments, and we hope to see you at the Mercure or one of our other hotels in the city in the future.
Regards Matt Juniper
