Delightful port town and the locals were kind and courteous. We enjoyed our short stay, wandered through the local shops, did the Chocolate Factory of course and visited the various historical attractions. The town has an interesting story to tell and is definitely worth a visit. We lunched at the Patriot and I reported on that a couple of days ago - excellent. There was also a local fair running while we were there and that certainly topped off the visit.

My husband and I took the ferry over from Auckland for dinner on the quaint & charming Main Street. Many good choices for meals! We decided on an Irish Pub for dinner and a bakery/cafe for dessert. We then made the steep walk up the road to the summit of Mt. Victoria in time for a breathtaking sunset! A must do if you come here!

Wonderful city with lunch with the locals at a seaside venue. History of Mt. Victoria was new information for me. Never new the Russians were planning an invasion. Toured residential areas to see lower and upper end residential housing. Again, great tour guide. Unfortunately we hit late afternoon traffic and got bogged down, seems that way everywhere in the Auckland area.

We enjoyed the short ferry ride from Auckland and a stroll up the Main Street, past many boutique shops, and enjoyed a coffee at corralling cafe. Then enjoyed a rather strenuous walk up mt Victoria, boy what a view, it was worth it.Enjoyed lunch at the hotel just across the road from the ferry wharf, great food and service. Also great souvenir shop in the street going up the hill.great day out.

Cool small island. 30min from auckland city. Will require ferry ride to get there as its a island. Recommend to do a small tour to hear the island history and such. Not much places to eat but great view on the port and sea side chill days
