Owner description: Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s is New Zealand’s most famous aquarium! It is home to New Zealand's only sub-Antarctic penguins and offers a myriad of opportunities to get up close and personal with incredible marine life from the Pacific and Southern oceans. For a truly incredible experience, take the plunge on an Animal Adventure jump into the shark tank and go snorkeling with 14 massive sharks or jump on the ice and get up close and personal with the King and Gentoo penguins!

If you do not have any other way to go diving or getting in the water this is the next best thing, and more.
Not to be missed if you are in Auckland, a truely unique and thrilling experience.

Hi Grant,

Thanks for your awesome review. Did you know, one of the inspirations behind our aquarium underwater tunnel, was to allow people who were unable to dive, the chance to enjoy the magic of our ocean world?!

Cheers,
Ebony

Kelly tartons was a mixed bag. The penguins were fantastic and the aquarium was good as was most of the other displays but I felt at $95 for a family pass it was a little to expensive for the 1 hour we were there. My kids (8 and 12) looked at everything once and then were ready to go. Seemed to be suited more to little ones maybe under 5s. Can't fault the service or the staff.

Am I imagining things or is there less fish variety in the tunnel? My husband seems to think so!
Great venue, great site, great history. My kids loved it as did we. Would go again.

A brilliant place to go to on a cold wet day. Lots of activities for kids to do throughout the Aquarium to keep them entertained. Displays are really good - love the shark tunnel. Highly recommend visiting- book online for cheaper tickets and smaller entry line

Hi Nicky,

Thanks for the awesome review. We definitely agree that we are a great place for wet weather - especially since we are an underground aquarium!
