The place was bustling and after we were seated, we felt fortunate as there was a queue after us.

We had their Braised Gluten as a starter and their whole Blue Cod in spicy sauce and stir fried Gluten, mushrooms and vegetables mix. They were all delicious and tasty but spicy sauce lacked the shanghai bite to it.

But all in all it was a good meal and a night out.

Have been here a couple of times recently and have had great meals. The staff were very friendly and polite, a bit more care has been taken than usual with the decor for a cheapish restaurant of this kind, and we really enjoyed the food. The highlight for us all was the eggplant with 5 toppings, which was really fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the braised meatballs and the shanghai style dumplings which are fried on the bottom with sesame seeds. The pork belly was very tender but tasted very strongly of chinese 5 spice and sugar and was our least favourite. Over all we had a great experience and we are looking forward to returning.

Their xiao long pork buns and fried pork buns are the best in Auckland, I could have them every day.

Had a great lunch at Jolin Shanghai restaurant - Yummy Shanghai style food. I had the Pork & Vege Wonton Soup and a plate of Pork Dumplings which cost about $20 including a pot of tea. Would return.

Very, very good soup dumplings, which I would definitely return to eat. However, the other two dishes we ordered were average at best, and the service was nothing special. Despite these shortcomings, I would certainly reccomend coming here just to try the dumplings- I would suggest maybe ordering them as a light snack or pre-movie type dinner.
