First of all to say that j would recommend the experience to everyone, the incident that happen to me and is because i don’t rate it with 5 points is because we went there and the show started at 5:30 even though my ticket said 6:30 and the told me was because they changed time on the 1st of april but why the ticket said 6:30 instead of 5:30 when I bought it and why didn’t they sent an email, it doesn’t make much sense to me. At the end just be careful with that and you would have a good time

Thank Juan G

Overall we had a good time and don't regret going, but nothing spectacular. The show was fun. learned some about the Maori culture but also felt the experience was largely about profit. Food was fine but nothing to rave about. I think the most frustrating thing was the size of the groups. As we walked around the property the group was so large that at times it was impossible to hear the tour guide. After the dinner we walked around in the dark so we could see the gloworms which were cool but due to a combination of the path being uneven, and meandering and people not being able to hear instructions many people were turning on lights from cell phones etc which then made it hard to see the gloworms. Honestly not a bad experience if you know what to expect. A fun evening to do something a little different

Initially we were a bit dithering to pay $116 pp, but at the end it was worth visiting. The cultural programme, though a bit lengthy, was awesome. Hosts were full of wit. The love song and the Hakka dance were splendid. The food was good, but not 100% authentic. I would ignore that with the excuse that it was designed to cater everyone. The maori boat race was cool. Walking in the bush at night to see the Maori village and the glowworm, was a nice experience. I would recommend this as an one time thing. Our guide the Chief (from the show) was awesome.

We were welcomed on arrival and directed where to park. (They also provide bus transfers from your accommodation but it is only a short drive out of town). Hosts provided canapé and we were shown to our seats. After everyone had arrived we were welcomed by the main host (a very funny and smart man) who provided an introduction and we went off in groups to to view the hungi cooking and the warriors arriving by canoe. This was followed by a welcome ceremony and a cultural performance. It was all excellent and done in a way that was educational but also funny. The meal was excellent. Don’t miss the short walk through the bush they take you on after dinner! We enjoyed our visit to the village and it was a highlight of our visit.
