as many travellers may know windy Wellington is a walk, walk, walk place so coming back to a room with great food (room service was great, price begs to differ) and amazing tv including movie channels (great for kids, and adults), really friendly staff, 100m to the cable car station via lift (helps a lot) if in Wellington must stay.

Staff very helpful and knowledgeable in their duties. Location convenient with direct access to Lambton Quay a bonus. We parked up the car all weekend and walked or caught public transport -enjoyed this. For the three days we were at Novotel the restaurant was full at dinner and breakfast. Waiting for a table at breakfast was inevitable no matter what time. Breakfast buffet kept running out of food and drinks and this was very frustrating. Window shades in the restaurant didn't lower so dining experience was less pleasant with the sun streaming through the window while you tried to enjoy your meal. As an Accor member I found some services fell short of my expectations especially when we arrived at 3.35pm and our room was not ready. No excuse for this!

Room Tip: Less noise on higher floors

This hotel was booked as part of a package. Good quality hotel with a nice sized room and bathroom. I liked the access to Lambton Quay which saved quite a bit of walking. Breakfasts were good and the snack menu was just right. Didn't use the restaurant proper, preferring to eat out. My only criticism is that the lounge area didn't have particularly comfortable seating.

Great little hotel, with the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. Friendly service, well-stocked mini-bar, free Sky TV for a quiet night in and prompt room service.
Only negative really is for the price of $209/night for a twin room you do expect the wifi to be free... we had to pay $10 for 24 hours. I know in theory you shouldn't need wi-fi on a holiday, but the reality is to make bookings, or do a quick check of emails - wi-fi is needed. Parking was also not cheap $20 for the carpark next door or $30 for valet - though this seems to be standard for most inner-city Wellington hotels.

Big bed! Great! Good size bathroom. Small room but adequate.
Nice toiletries
Funny set up coming up from Lambton Quay and walking from the lift through the serving area of the restaurant to reception but
It was all adequate and I had a good sleep despite road noise as I was on the first floor.
I would return as it was reasonably priced but
Charging $10 for wifi is a bit steep!
And the breakfast was ok and we could get a great espresso if we asked.
So worth the price we paid.
