From the minute we arrive Josh, the manager, couldn't have been more helpful. He and his wife run this place like it's a top notch hotel. Josh provided us with superb advice with regard restaurants and wineries for tastings, lunch and dinner.
The house we had was super clean and spacious. They left fresh milk, tea and coffee daily which was unexpected. The rear of the property looked over the vineyard to the mountains beyond and the sunsets were beautiful.
The swimming pool was great for a relax especially after renting bikes from Josh and pedaling too many miles/kilometers.
I cannot give enough praise about this well run establishment, the manager and the property. Highly recommend a stay here especially for lovers of Sauvignon Blanc.

This is the perfect stay in the heart of Marlborough's vineyards - quiet, peaceful and even walking distance to several cellar doors! And if you need help to make the most of your stay, Josh is on hand to guide you with professional advice - nothing was too much trouble.

The accommodation was perfect - two-bedrooms on two levels, adjacent to views of vineyards and providing all the facilities you need.

Thank you Josh - you ensured our stay was perfect and memorable.

We were a group of 12 & we stayed in the Stables - booked 3 x 2 bedroom 2 level townhouses . 1 bedroom downstairs and 1 loft bedrooom upstairs, both bedrooms had ensuites. Very clean and comfortable - living area a bit on small side even for only 4 people. However, were well kitted out- lovely & plentiful wine glasses, crockery , pots n pans etc. BBQ at each townhouse. The Daily service was nice a nice surprise. Our only complaint was the Road noise due to proximity of resort to major roads. Vintners Retreat is situated on the Junction of 2 major highways - so trucks were driving past even at night. Our townhouses were towards back of retreat so lucky we weren’t at front! Recommend you book townhouse right at back of resort area. Otherwise a great stay and managers are lovely people and very happy to please.

Room Tip: Request townhouses as far back from road as possible.

Thank you for your review. The stable do have slightly smaller living areas than the Manor villas and we try to reflect this in both the price and description of our villas but we are pleased you enjoyed the facilities. Road noise has been a slight concern saice the 2016 Kaikoura Earthquake which closed the main route south. This opened for limited hours in December and is still on these hours (closed overnight) the traffic noise should dwindle to zero again when the road opens again permanently. In saying that all villas have double glazing to protect from traffic noise. Again thank you for your review and we have taken all comments on board!

Vintners Retreat is an excellent place to stay if you are visiting Marlborough. Lovely villas set adjacent to the vineyards, close to many wineries including five within walking distance. Nice quiet environment, low traffic easy access and close to Renwick for restaurants, groceries etc.

We loved the quietness and privacy of this place. In the middle of several weeks of travelling, it was a blissful relief to relax for a while - and to find a washing machine and drying facilities! Right in the middle of several well known wineries, there is no shortage of places to eat should you not wish to cook for yourself in the well equipped kitchen of the villas. Clean and comfortable, we have no hesitation in recommending this as a lovely place to stay.
