We came to this winery as part of a wine tour with Bubbly Grape. It was our lunch stop for the day. It was exceptionally delicious. Even the focaccia bread was perhaps the best bread I’d ever eaten in my life. Bravo!

Even if you do not intend doing any wine tasting it is worth going to Brancott for the views. The car park is at the bottom of a small hill but if you do not want to walk there is a shuttle taking people up and down the hill. We walked even although it was quite hot and the views over the vines and the countryside were great on the way up and from the cellar door at the top. The wines are quite good too!

This is one of the most popular wineries in the region for lunch so reservations are essential. Even if you miss out on a meal, the view is well worth a stop. There is even a courtesy bus to whisk you up and down the hill. I particularly loved their role in the preservation of the locally birds of prey.

We visited for lunch on our way from Nelson back home to Christchurch. Have tried Brancott wines in the past but had heard from family that the cellar door and restaurant was well worth the visit. They weren’t wrong! It was amazing! All staff were so friendly and helpful. Although we didn’t use the service as we had our 2 year old with us, they have a van that picks you up from the Carpark at the base of the hill and takes you to cellar door and restaurant. The view from the restaurant over the vineyard is spectacular, perfect spot for lunch. We wanted to do a wine tasting and one of the staff members kindly did the tasting at our table so we could enjoy the wines and look after our son in his highchair. It was great to taste cellar-door only wines. We ended up purchasing a few bottles of the Sauvignon B series and a Rose (strawberries and cream). For lunch we had the entree tasting platter, which was perfect for a light lunch. Can’t fault anything! Will definitely visit again and will recommend to all our friends and family.

Went there for wine tasting, didn’t make a lunch booking. Requested to be given a table if one becomes available. Staff were absolutely rushed off their feet, we had to finish our wine tasting with 2 different staff. Once we were given the table the staff who couldn’t finish the wine tasting with us came & apologized which was really good. We were seated & I had the Holoumi salad & hubby had lamb. Yummy food. Awesome views & recommend making a booking if you are planning to stay for lunch.
