We stayed here twice while touring the South Island. Rooms were large and very clean and tidy. All amenities were new. The location is excellent and was a walking distance to shops and malls. Staff are super friendly and very helpful.
Only downside is that the clothes dryer is inefficient as it takes hours and hours to dry clothes.

This hotel is fantastically located right in the middle of Christchurch. By this I mean - right in the middle - across r he road from the Cathedral and in the same building as the tram stop at the Christchurch Cathedral Mall. We had adjoining rooms with two bedrooms and the rooms were fitted out with all that is expected of a Quest. As someone else has said, the lift is a bit beaten up and the entrance underwhelming but the hotel is great. You also need to pay for parking at a lot next door. Overall though I would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our 3 night at The Quest. Reception doesn't run for 24 hours, but when there was a Reception person there during the day they were very helpful. There is no Restaurant, but there are many close by. There were kitchen facilities, and a clean bathroom and bedroom. We found it quiet, and easily accessible to come and go from our room.
