Very nice new hotel property in Christchurch central.

Very nice staff, good location, and looked after, to a point.

Now the issues;
Make sure you check the room before accepting else after paying more than $350 a night your room may be looking out towards a white concrete wall.
It's a nice room, but for that kind of room rare I expect better. Not sure if I can recommend this girl on that basis, especially as they appear to have a few rooms that have the same outlook. Surely they should be discounted or removed from Booking!
They room was extremely stuffy, meaning having to open a window with the heating on to sleep, and the beds weren't ideal for comfort.
Parking was a real chore, as a long way from the entrance.

But again, a new property near the city of that's what you are after!

The food served at the restaurant was delicious. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean. The service by all staff members I interacted with was top class. I'll definitely stay at the Rydges again.

My wife and I had been touring New Zealand, on a 15-day trip covering both islands, and stayed in Rydges after leaving that tour, for an overnight stay prior to flying on to our next destination. We found it to be well located, being a short walk to the New Regent Street Precinct and the Tramcar route.

The room was fine and had a mini-bar, hairdryer, free wifi, television and a safe, but no iron or ironing board. The bed was comfortable and the shower facilities were very good. The staff were friendly and helpful, including arranging a taxi to take us to the airport on our day of departure, and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a nice bar where we enjoyed a few drinks prior to going out for a meal that evening. The hotel has a nice looking restaurant, but we ate in town instead, because a particular restaurant had been recommended to us by our coach driver. I would happily recommend Rydges Latimer to anyone wishing to stay near the centre of Christchurch.
