“Cosy and warm cottage in convenient location”
Reviewed July 23, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Our family of 4 spent 2 nights at Brickledown cottage. We hired a car at the airport and had no difficulty finding the cottage. It was freezing the night we arrived but our cottage was as warm as toast. It was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated without being twee. Everything in the cottage is of high quality including the crockery and cooking utensils. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in with high quality linen. Even the down pillows were great. Just loved the electric blanket and the heater in the bathroom. There is a convenience shop two mins walk away if you needed to buy supplies. Fresh milk was provided on arrival for a cup of tea or coffee. Good sized TV with a great selection of childrens' DVDs and books for adults. There is no Wifi at the cottage but apart from this our stay was perfect. Breakfast supplies are provided at $10 per person. This cost is actually very reasonable because by the time we'd bought supplies for 4 people for 2 nights it was virtually the same cost. We plan to make this cottage our base when visiting family in Christchurch. I would recommend you hire a car if spending a few days in ChCh as I'm not sure how easy it is to get around without one.

“Beautifully renovated, warm cottage”
Reviewed June 3, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We had a lovely long weekend in Christchurch in Brickledown Cottage. Only 5 mins walk from Latimer Square and the City and another 10 mins to the lovely botanical gardens.
The cottage has been immaculately renovated with lovely furnishings, bedding, bathrooms and spacious kitchen. dining, lounge. 3 bedrooms was a bit wasted on 1 couple but we made up for it by having 9 around for dinner and Jo kindly loaned us some serving platters. The kitchen had everything else we needed.
We will be back!
