“I was disappointed”
Reviewed 14 March 2012

I went here with a friend on a great deal from Grab one that included the room and a continental brekky. We booked for 4 nights. I should say that I have stayed at this hotel a few times before and loved it so I was thrilled to be able to go with a voucher deal. The location of the hotel is very good. A short walk into town, a bit longer walk up the hill but good for the cardiovascular system. I just felt that the hotel has struggled a bit and the room felt shabby. They even charged for a pint of mild ($2.50) which I thought was petty. There was road work right outside and it was warm with no air con. So keeping the windows open was not an option. No free internet. Would I stay again. Probably not. The experience was several notches down from my previous ones and there are lots of hotels in the Queenstown region all trying to get your business.

Room Tip: I like the rooms that are on the ground floor and open to the parking are since these are very conve...

When you are in a beautiful city like Queenstown, you dont need the best hotel. We stayed at Hurleys for 3 nights and found it to be good enough. Erika the receptionist was helpful. She booked our activities ahead of time.

The hotel itself is 10-15 mins walk from town centre. Driving there is not recommended due to shortage of free parking. The walk back is tough as its uphill for 5-7 mins (naaahhh).. From our room we could see mountains with para gliders having a go through the day.

Wifi is available and reaonably priced. No AC - so it was tough in the afternoons though there was a table fan. The day we reached the bathroom was clean but was smelling like crazy. Opening windows and air circulation helped. It was fine after that. Parking was not a problem for us and it seemed like we had a reserved parking :).

All in all, the stay was ok.

Good place to stay, not too far from town. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which had a view of the mountains. The room was clean and quiet and there was plenty of car parking space.

There were a few things we didnt like. The reception lady on check in was rude and unwelcoming. Our breakfast kit was great except for the fact our bread was mouldy. The bathtub was mouldy and we were given one shampoo, one conditioner, one soap and one body lotion for 4 people, they gave us more when we asked but why should we have to ask when they knew 4 people were coming?! We had planned to tell the manager on check out but then a housekeeper checked us out..? so we had to inform her instead.

All in all not too bad but they should really work on their presentation, delivery and customer service.

Great place to stay, really nice apartments with DVD, TV, Kitchenette with hob, toaster, fridge and microwave etc. (A serrated or bread knife would have been useful)
Room had nice balcony with view of mountains and skyline.
Room was serviced daily.
Wifi was chargeable which was a shame as lots of places provide for free. (but just noticed it says is free on trip advisor?
Laundry facilities on site and sauna and small gym.
Good shower and spa bath.
Room was on top floor and got really hot as we had very sunny weather, there was a ceiling fan but this still wasn't enough and we had to open the patio doors and windows, and keep the curtains closed.
The property is about 10 minutes walk to town up a fairly steep hill but this is true of many others in Queenstown and it does benefit from being quiet at night which is great for restful sleep. Pillows could have been better but apart from that a great place to stay.

Great place for us to stay. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was really great. They supplied breakfast goodies for the 2 days we stayed which was really great. The rooms, beds and linen were clean and of good quality. Towels were changed after the first day. It might not be in the middle of town but was walking distance - parents of 80 and 75yrs had no problem walking there and back. Only saw one lady at reception but she was very friendly and helpful. Will have no problem going back.

We stayed in the rooms for 3 days and on the second day the Room cleaners did not visit the room till after 3 pm. We had vacated the room at 10 Am and came back to the room at 3 pm to find the rooms not done. On inquiring the very blaze attitude of the staff said that oh the staff are doing it which I feel they should have cleaned the occupied rooms first.
I could winge but just the whole stay was not the greatest of the whole 21 day adventure.
