stayed here for 2 nights. very dissapointed as I chose to stay 20minutes out of town to have lake views and a quite couple of nights after alot of traveling. Instead we were given a side apartment with extremely limited views of the lake. good view of the next roof. We were connected to a 'proper' apartment next door that had several kids slamming doors until late at night and from 6am the next morning - Sunday. we rang several times But as there is no reception after 7pm - you are pretty much on your own.

Our baby was awoken many times with the noise. Reception rang us the next morning and left us move to the other side of the building - another side apartment with limited views. forget about apologies or inconvenience.

my wife and I did this sunday morning - don't expect help unless fellow guests jump in to help - luckily there were a few kiwi guests around and they helped.

On checking out - i was informed that i owed $20 per night for the use of the cot that had been supplied by an external company.

I don't mind paying for services - so long as I have been made aware of the charges beforehand - I was Not.

Never again.

Room Tip: I think I paid for and got a studio - these have terrible views and totally inadequate facilities wh...

Absolutely loved our stay at Oaks Club. A regular to Qtown, this was the first time we had stayed here and we will be definatley be back, but next time will stay on the 6th floor and ask for apartment 601 - the view from there and courtyard outside where just perfect for our family and meeting with friends. Of the two families, we were on the first floor with access straight out to the garden and a stones through from the lake. Our room was absolutely perfect, with a large lounge and really well kitted out kitchen. Our room opened on to the veranda with stunning views down the lake.
We thought that it was perfect until we saw our friends apartment on the 6th floor. This opened out to a large child safe and beautifully landscaped garden terrace, with plenty of room for the (five) kids to run around. The view from this corner apartment was just incredible - one of those corner picture windows looking straight out to the lake and Remarkable Mountain range.
Loved the fireplaces, kitchens, and comfy beds. Really loved the alfresco living area!

Room Tip: Just loved the 6th floor with its large outdoor terrace - especially apartment 601, which can be two...

This was our last stop in New Zealand and WOW, I could have kissed our travel agent for making this our hotel! BEAUTIFUL and comfortable modern room and a breathtaking view right outside the large glass doors of the lake. I could have stayed longer. The resort was quiet, perfectly located and the staff were friendly and helpful. Dont even bother looking for another hotel.

Room Tip: Not sure if all rooms offer a lake view but its a must!

This Hotel was very good due to:
1) View of the harbour is amazing, it is one of the most bealtiful views we ever saw.
2) Staff was polite and assisted us when needed.
3) Modern and clean room.
4) Handy parking available (you have to pay for it).

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment for 6 nights in July 2011. It was great! The moment we walked into the room we were amazed at the size, the features and the view from the back deck. It is situated right on the lake so the view from the back of the deck showed the entire lake and the mountains. The way the Hotel is layed out, all apartments face the lake and as it is built on the side of the hill, the apartments at the bottom still have a great view as the building tapers out, much like the seating at a football stadium.

The rooms have electric fireplaces and heated bathroom tiles. They also have electric blankets. The apartment was very nuice and possibly the nicest place I've stayed...anywhere! The kitchen was full of utensils (although I dont think all rooms have Kitchens, some only have tea coffe making).

Although we never walked into town, it would have been about a 20 minute walk. The first day we caught the bus but as their was 6 of us, we figured it was easier to get a taxi as it was about $2 each. The buses for The Remarkable and Coronet Peak all leave from just outside the Hotel so that was very handy.

In conclusion, it was a great place to stay and I will definitly stay there again!

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with a Kitchen, much easier buying groceries then eating out every night

Location is in between Franktown (the main shopping centre/airport) and Queenstown. It probably would take 15-20 minutes of brisk walking to get into Queenstown town centre or 3-5 minutes to either Queenstown or Franktown. I chose this over Oaks Shores due to the view (both sunset and sunrise) and slightly closer proximity to Queenstown. Both are directly on Lake Wakatipu which make for steep driveways and lots of stairs down to the lake.

We had a 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom fully furnished apartment. There was an additional adjoining room (which somebody else had booked) so I guess it could be even 4 bedrooms if needed. It had a massive open plan kitchen, dining, TV lounge, 2nd lounge, which opened up to a huge common balcony. There were views southwest from inside the lounge, but the views were way better on the balcony.

Due to the terrace design, you can see people directly below one level and the people above will also look down upon you. There is a large gas BBQ for guests to use and a cleaner comes every morning at 7am to clean it. There are some sundeck chairs and tables/chairs for lounging on the deck too. Views are fantastic (will try and upload a video) for especially sunrise and sunset, with views over the southern & southeastern mountains (Remakables) with Lake Wakatipu in the foreground. You can't quite see Queenstown city or Franktown from here though.

The staff didn't quite get our bedding configuration correct though they confirmed it prior to our check in. Overall I found them helpful in local information and booking a tour. Place was clean and we found the kitchen to be very useful as we cooked a lot. Fridge/freezer is a 210+L fridge so was great for stocking up at the Remarkables shopping centre.

Bathrooms were small but spacious shower with dual 'bush' shower head and hand-held directional head. Bathroom floors could be heated to a custom temperature as well. Ventilation was surprisingly good.

Only minor complaint was there was no air conditioning and one would need to sleep with windows open (though the master & 3rd bedroom had no windows) if one got hot at night. Though I doubt it gets that hot in Queenstown (we were there in early December). There is a gas heater in the TV lounge + beds had electric blankets.

Clothes washer/dryer was great to use, but we tended to line air dry our clothes instead (there is no place to hang clothes on the balcony and you are requested not to do this) Due to the low humidity clothes and western sun (in the lounge) clothes dried quickly.

Great for a big group/family to self cater. Our extended family loved it.

Room Tip: Rooms on lower floors probably don't have as good views. Floor 6 has a massive common balcony. O...
