The breakfast at the Border Inn was great quality. We had Eggs Benedict and Salmon Benedict and it was so good we returned for the same the next morning! Lovely fresh food, generous servings and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful and obviously very proud of the standard of the hotel.we also went there for dinner for their Steak Night (Tuesdays) $36 steak reduced to $24 - great meal - this time in their courtyard which was very pleasant. Would definitely return there for breakfast or dinner!

Mostly was pretty happy. But rooms were not serviced. Staying in a motel usually means that when you go out during the day, housekeeping has at least been in at some point. But no. When we returned, the rooms were as we left them. Other than that we were pretty happy.

Hi Kdinya, thankyou for staying with us. Due to increased cost of servicing our rooms we have made the choice of not servicing the rooms during our guest stay so that we could keep our prices low. Upon request we still provide fresh linen when requested at no charge. Thank you for your feedback and we will ensure that we make our customers aware of this in the future. I hope you will stay with us on your next visit.

We booked a room across the road from the hotel and was pleasantly surprised by our experience. Room was basic but shower was fantastic and bed was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing across at the hotel with a discount when you show your room key. Peter was attentive and a great up seller! Would definitely stay again. Can't speak for the budget rooms behind the hotel.

The first thing you need to know when booking a room at the Border Inn is that there is a detached motel block across the road from the pub, as well as some much older and more poorly maintained rooms right behind the pub. The motel rooms across the road are quite alright. They're basic, but are clean, tidy and have the necessary basics. I stayed in one of these rooms during a trip to Moama and was sufficiently satisfied that I booked in again. (Both bookings made via Wotif). What wasn't clear to me when I made my second booking, was that the excellent quoted price was for a room behind the pub.

This room was really quite woeful, (quite a few items where maintenance should have been performed), and there is also a LOT of noise from the pub. And patrons coming back to adjoining rooms after midnight, drunk and completely oblivious to the volume of their own voices (and thumping up and down the wooden staircase, etc.)

Also at least one truck seemed to pull up right between the back of the pub and my room every morning (I was there for six nights) at about 4.45am, delivering supplies (not only the noise of the truck motor, but air-brakes discharging, a lot of banging and clanging with things being taken on/off the truck, and load voices).

The whole place smacks of extreme stinginess, perhaps epitomized most by the fact that not once during my 6 night stay, did housekeeping give me any new soap. There were the usual two hotel micro-cakes on my arrival, and I had to make these last SIX DAYS.

Room Tip: Ask a room in the motel block across the road from the pub

We have used this hotel/motel on a number of other occasions but were always housed in the double storey block, on this occasion we were given a room in what was probably deemed the newer section [single storey]. Until this attendance we were satisfied as the original hotel had offered reasonable priced food and the rooms were comfortable and reasonably priced.

The old hotel was demolished in favour of the patrons using the second hotel opposite.

Our room:
The bed was quite comfortable although the room very small, equipped with a frig bearing Sydney Olympic Games sticker which would not cool, the TV [flat screen] very small, open hanging space for clothes. We are able to confirm that the bathroom was without a window OR ventilation [fan in light did not work] as others have complained.

After the first night the room service consisted of cleaners [2] not entering the room but asking if we desired a change of towels, same the next morning. The normal tidying and cleaning expected in a $100.00 motel room was not provided, not were additional coffee, biscuits etc., waste bin was emptied by the occupant in the adjacent skip bin. The room adjacent to ours received no attention ie towels etc as they were not present with the cleaners did their 'pass by' and are most likely one of the previous disgruntled reporters.

Breakfast was available within the hotel opposite, my wife chose fruit loaf!!! She was served 2 slices of thin pre-buttered fruit loaf with 2 'pats' of jam FOR THE PRICE OF JUST $10.

I believe that the lack of supervision of the motel section is the cause of much of the complaints regarding this place. It's no palace but with the attention of someone/anyone who understands casual accommodation it would gain a more positive approach by many!

IF someone at the hotel were read the reports they may consider replacing the cleaners, employing staff who would at least act with a little enthusiasm and do what they are paid to do. Maybe they could report malfunctions within the rooms ie light/exhaust fan and have a pest exterminator extinguish the various ant colonies that occupy the car parking area immediately to the front of the rooms.

Wi-Fi was present BUT didn't work!

Room Tip: select another room to avoid disapointment
