My wife and I attempted to go back to the Casuarina again but were concerned that no one was answering the phone. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed and no one was there. We subsequently were told that the owner had closed the restaurant and terminated the staff. We were also told that Chef Michael was currently working at the Cypress Lakes restaurant. :(

We were pleased to see one of our favourite restaurants had re-opened after being closed for a few years. The flambes were back on the menu and we couldn't wait to try them again! we chose the steak tartare as an entree - prepared at the table by head chef Michael - amazing! Then the beef flambe also prepared at the table by Michael - a real pro at his job! Delicious meal!! Over the next few weeks we returned and tried the other flambes- jambalaya and our favourite the Thai Chicken & Prawns. The desserts are lovely too. This is a terrific restaurant, run by a chef who clearly knows his craft!

My wife and I were so pleased to hear that Chef Michael is back, and brought the awesome flambé specials back to the Casuarina Restaurant. We had wonderful memories of eating the couples flambé back in the 90's. When we heard that Chef Michael was back and saw flambé on the menu again we had to go back. The meal was wonderful. The food was great and having a great chef cook your flambé at your table is a wonderful experience. Two other couples that ordered the flambé on the same night also loved it. Top marks to Chef Michael, and thank you Casuarina for getting him back, and bringing back the flambé. We will definitely be back soon.

I have had the privilege to travel and eat at many restaurants around the world and so i visited Casuarina on a recommendation and must say that the food is to die for.
Chef Michael did the most amazing meal, lamb melts in your mouth and the flavour of that Australian lamb OH LA LA, spatchcock was sensational well presented and tasted as good as any that i've eaten from the michelin star restaurants.

We ended up staying till late as it was such a relaxed dining atmosphere.

What a pleasure to find such a great Restaurant in the Hunter Valley

I went with a group of friends and we had a fantastic night out. The food was delicious, well portioned and there was a bit of a show! I had the Hunter Beef Flambe which was seriously tasty, but even better we got to watch the chef cook it right by our table.
