Motel room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There were tea/coffee facilities but no restaurant or breakfast facilities.

The sign at the front of reception advertising WiFi and Foxtel is wrong. Neither facilities are available and when asked about it after checkin a look of confusion was the response with a stuttered reply they were offline. It was clear neither facility was available.

The price was $95 a disappointment given the lack of advertised facilities. We chose the motel based on WiFi and Foxtel being available.

Room Tip: Any room would be adequate but query WiFi and Foxtel if that is required before checkin

On the weekend of the 19th/20th March having trouble finding suitable accommodation in Port Macquarie to attend a funeral. Jimmy Barnes's fans had booked almost all of PM. Suddenly found the Excelsior Motor Inn, close to CBD, very reasonably priced and one room left so we took it.

Well we are converts. If you want a comfortable bed, close to CBD (without traffic noise) good sized room all at a reasonable price well Excelsior is the one. After we'd booked I read the Trip Advisor reviews and had no great expectations but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. Smiling manager, we did park on the street as our car is a little large, no problem. Brought a toaster with us so we didn't bother the manager. TV is a little small but overall for the price we had a comfortable bed for the night for a bargain PM price, we will be back again.

It was a cheap hotel so I was not expecting much. However it was very smelly - not sure if it was mold or cigarette smoke. Seemed the room had not been aired out very much. Their car park was extremely tight. I am surprised the council allow them to get away with it as it becomes rather full and dangerous. Close to some local cafes. Best of all, it was cheap. Just BYO air freshener.

Room Tip: Ask for one that has been aired out recently.

Very basic right down to the air conditioning which barely cooled the room.

Wouldn't recommend the only plus is it's close to the CBD.

Rooms are dated and in need of a refurbishment.

Parking is cramped at best

A last minute booking. The accommodation was offered at a reasonable price at peak holiday season when generally prices double for a room. It is located within an easy walking distance to a shopping centre and the beach. There is a great little café a short walk just up the street (William Street)
The free parking within the complex is limited but there is off street parking available. The entrance is a right angle dog leg with an overhang in front of reception. So for very large vehicles it might be a challenge. It is one way traffic entry with a separate exit.
The only room available was a deluxe double with a balcony on the first floor. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and a lounge. It was showing signs of wear particularly in the bathroom where the paint was peeling, minor chipped and cracked tiles along with deteriorating grouting but nonetheless clean. The shower was of a reasonable size and water pressure was okay although it took a while trying to get some hot water when first used in the morning.
The balcony overlooking the garden is showing signs of age. The carpeting used on the balcony was faded, frayed and mouldy on the edges as it soaks up water with each successive rain storm.
The room is dark during the day even with the curtains open.
The accommodation is located on a corner of busy streets used by buses and trucks, particularly in the morning. Ear plus for a good night sleep is recommended.
Free internet is available but for only 2 hours each day. The response time is good for checking and responding to emails but don't expect to watch an on-line video. Each new day you will need to get a new password to get the 2 free hours.
The Foxtel channels available on the TV only offer sport or music. The rest are the usual free to air channels.
It suited our situation at the time for a reasonable price.

Last minute booking travelling back to Sydney over busy xmas period, owner not rude but not very welcoming.
I don't expect luxury paying basic price, large room but carpet dirty, poor quality mattress, large window with no fly screen, could have lighting provided walking upstairs at night.

Room Tip: Upstairs probably quieter away from car parking areas

Initial reception was unfriendly & unhelpful. Car parking very small spaces with little room to manoeuvre. Booked via Expedia - all 'Expedia' rooms are upstairs - no lift so you'll have to lug your baggage up 3 level of stairs. Room was clean but very basic. Sofa very uncomfortable, small table & 2 chairs were actually garden furniture. Bed was uncomfortable- very hard. No room phone - had to call reception from my mobile. Could not get the WiFi to work properly & a printed voucher with login & password is needed for each two hour connection. When we could connect it was slow & dropped out repeatedly.

Room Tip: Avoid it if you can
