We tried Bernardi's for the first time for my birthday this year and we will certainly be going back again. Straight up the service was excellent and the food...OMG...to die for. It made sense at the end of the evening when we were talking to the owner and he told us his mother was the chef. He should be very proud of his mother - she is an excellent chef.
We had the pana di casa - and the bread was excellent.
Then we shared the aracini and the zucchini flowers - the best we have ever tasted.
For mains it was veal scallopini with potato and peas - I have had a lot of veal scallopini and this was among the best I have ever tasted. My dining partner had the slow cooked greek lamb (brilliant) with lemon potatoes and vegetables.
Stuffed, as we were we braved dessert. I was boring and had the frangellico adffogato, but he had the orange cake and said it was as close to heaven as he has come.
Seriously - try this place. It is in the restaurant row down near the WIN Stadium and if there is a place here that you need to take seriously - this is it.
Prices are highly reasonable.
