On a cold and windy Saturday afternoon we checked into Mantra Hotel. No one was there to assist with the bags. Travelling with a small baby, we had lots of luggage. We were advised that we can use the trolley in the lobby and to return it back. I assume it's not the type of hotel with bellboy.
Check in was quick and easy. Received all the members benefits without having to ask about it (unlike other mantra hotel). Very nice lady at the front desk. Also received our parking voucher. Since it was over the weekend, there were plenty of parking spaces.
Room was located on the second level. There was a small balcony overlooking the medical clinic carpark. Too cold and windy to even contemplate stepping onto the balcony.
Enough room to put up our portable cot next to the bed.
A few issues with the room. The biggest would be the blinds. It was very unique. Very thin and did not really block out the morning sun or the cold weather after sunset. As there was a gap between the blinds, the cold draft came through the room and made the area near the window very cold at night.
Secondly the mini fridge was very loud that we had to turn it off at night. Hotel should invest into more quieter fridge as most other hotel.
Finally, before checkout when we noticed a few big stain on the quilt. Could be coffee stain or something even worst. Can't believe they keep using stained quilt. Since we only noticed it before checkout we didn't make a fuss about it.

A high quality, modern hotel with pleasant, friendly and helpful staff, a high level of amenities, furnishings and fittings in the spa room I had, and the convenience of a kitchenette in the room. Location was convenient for me.

We got to our room exhausted and with all of our belongings and our swipe didn't work. A worker came by and we asked her she said that it wasn't her area of expertise and kindly went down and asked reception for us. She came back up and said that reception said that we had to go down stairs with the swipe. We lugged all of our belongings down and the woman re coded the swipe - no apology no niceness at all. We then lugged all of our belongings back up and got into our room. Everyone else was nice and the gentleman very nice but this one woman tainted our visit.

Hard landscaping at entry to the site needs attention. There are missing parts of letters on outdoor signage. Base of fountain requires painting. Interior was great. Staff at front desk were polite and most helpful.

I apologise if you found the external grounds on the approach to the hotel to be worn and requiring maintenance. We remain in ongoing discussions with the parties responsible for this space to maintain so will address with them (by way of esxplanarion the sign I think you are referring to denotes The Charles precinct as opposed to the hotel specifically so the Mantra bit is not missing, just to relevant for that sign)

Add on costs are disappointing for wi-fi and credit card surcharges, but overall good value.
Room decor was a bit cold
Room size excellent, and bathroom a good size.
Room position facing rear of hotel was disappointing for what was advertised as executive.

My recent stay was pleasant. room was clean and when I requested a microwave, it was promptly attended to. The service was great and the concierge provided information which assisted me. Would be happy to recommend my colleagues stay with Mantra.

Recently stayed one night at Mantra Charles hotel and were blown away by the hospitality of the staff here.
We were here to celebrate my friends 21st birthday and upon check in got offered complimentary chamomile tea.
When we went up to our room we were greeted by a cake made from towels which made us laugh. Such a sweet little gesture. Not long after that one staff member was knocking at our door with a complimentary card, bottle of bubbles and local Tasmanian chocolates for my friends birthday.
These little things make you feel most welcome.
