St Kilda Beach House is the worst hotel we have EVER stayed in - and that includes all the hotels we stayed in around India.
It is clearly not finished. We were woken up at 8am by sounds of building work going on nearby within the hotel. The carpet was cheap, the bathroom poorly designed with no edging or finishing, waste-pipes totally uncovered on the ceiling - oh and the ceiling, untreated masonry metal - yes the bare bones of the building.
It wasn't "minimalist" or "stylish' - it was unbelievably shabby - the unplastered breeze-block walls gave a "prison cell" effect to the room - it had no furniture other than a set of reclaimed lockers that still had the payslips in of employees from whatever factory they were pillaged from ---- yes they hadn't even bothered to clean them out.
$AUS110 per night for a double room !!! We later found fully serviced executive apartments for just $3 more a night !
This hotel is a depressing ediface to the owner's greed and I hope that this review shames all the people involved and discourages everybody from ever patronising this hellish establishment. Avoid this place like the plague.
