I completely agree with the review given by amelieee5 here. I had booked for 3 nights in December after going through the first two reviews, but have to say I made such a big blunder by doing so.

Rehendi Inn is severely mismanaged and disorganized with absolutely no value for customers. They don't even bother to think whether customers exist there. I normally adjust to most kind of hotels, but this one was a real dampner

I shall try to put in points the plus points (hardly any) and the minus points (too many)

Plus Points:

1. Beach facing hotel - You just step out of the hotel and see the beach. But this is not a huge advantage in the sense Maafushi in itself is a very small island and beach is at walking distance from any hotel on the island.
2. Dinner - The dinner items we ordered were kind of ok and tasted fine. But I cannot say the same about the breakfast.

Minus Points (Phew):
1. Absolutely Disorganized and Mismanage- First of all, there was no one there to attend to us. The receptionist was always away or in her own world and had no clue how to manage requests. I had to request several times for drinking water. I had requested for early breakfast only to find nobody was available in the morning at the reception or kitchen. Nobody even to see us off. I had to leave without having the morning breakfast. I don't know how better to explain, but they just don't care that you exist there. You just have a room and you are on your own.

2. Dirty and Unclean - The entire hotel is a mess. No regular clearning. You find lunch tables with all litter and nobody around to clean for hours. Even while sitting for breakfast, nobody cleans up the table. Even the cheapest hotels around the world do this, but this was an absolute shocker.

3. Facilities - The facilities are poor to say the least. We had to request for toiletries. We had booked a family room, but when we reached they apologized and said the other room guys refused to vacate, so we have to stay in small room. We understood they have no control over their own premises and rooms.

4. Any special requests will not be taken care for sure. We requested early breakfast to leave for trips on 2 days, but nobody turned up at the kitchen. A so called manager said he has no control on the staff which was not something you would like to hear.

Overall, I would never recommend this hotel unless you have absolutely no other place to stay or no choice. I had taken few photos of dirty wash basins and dining tables but finally decided not to post them here.

Room Tip: No rooms are sea facing.

Maafushi is a tiny island, everywhere is close to beach, so location doesn't make Rehendhi Inn special. We were very shocked and disappointed to see the rooms. Planning to give up the paid rooms, we walked in to several guest houses to seek for rooms, all of them looked a lot nicer at similar price, unfortunately they were all full during peak season.

Room Tip: Try to search for other options before booking

Decent and very spacious room, the staffs are friendly too. When we first arrive on the island, the manager is already waiting for us and we were served with tasty orange juice on a hot day. The rooms are located on the second floor, and the restaurant is right outside. Although our room is not perfectly clean, however it is still acceptable. Everything is working perfectly, including the aircon, fan, shower heater etc. There are no room service, however they are always ready to help you and accomodate to your requests. They can bring you to a floating bar via boat for free as well. The restaurant have an array of foods and are also very delicious and cheap. Romantic place to dine as it is facing the ocean and the candles are litted up at each table at night. The hotel is perfectly located with a few mins walk away from tourist beach.

The manager and staffs are very friendly, they wait at the Maafushi jetty for our arrival and carried the luggage for us until the room.

The room is very spacious and they
Provide basic daily necessities. We stayed in the first room. There is a small window to the common corridor, cupboard with hangers and a makeup table.

The corridor leads to the restaurant, which have a wonderful sea view. The restaurant is directly facing the sea with a sunset view. The wind from the sea are strong and enjoyable.

They provide breakfast, Maldivian style breakfast. It can be toast with sausage & egg or roshi with tuna floss & egg. They offers great dinner and many tourists staying in other guesthouses or hotels always come over to have lunch or dinner.

Overall, I think this guesthouse is pretty good for staying. They provide basic needs in their rooms and breakfast. Good enough for visitors with low requirements.

We visited Maafushi Island in June 2013 at stayed for a week at Yellow Rehendhi Inn.

The rooms are comfortable, with the minimum necessities. It had A/C, attached toilets with 24/7 hr hot water, cozy beds, storage space for luggage, shelves to hang clothes and clean beds. Fresh bedsheets, pillow covers and towels were provided on a daily basis.

Pros: The Inn is a few meters away from the sea, it has shops near by within 2 to 5 minutes of walking distance. The restaurant is easily the best on the island and tourists staying at other hotels frequent this place for lunch and dinner. They also a serve a complimentary breakfast of juice, coffee/tea, bread toast/ local cuisine in the mornings for the in-house guests. The staff are friendly, chatty and non-intrusive. They also provide the guests with a snorkeling kit without any charge. If required trips are arranged to other islands on request.

Cons: Though internet was part of the deal it did not work at all during our 1 week stay. We could occasionally connect via Kiddo's(owner) shared mobile wifi. However, it was good to be blissfully disconnected with the world and enjoy our experience on this little island.

Things to do: Try scuba-diving and snorkeling while you are here, you get see some beautiful sights underwater. Water melon juice at the Yellow Rehendi is a must. While you are on the island would recommend you get canned drinking water from the supermarket close-by. Take the 15 minute boat trip to the floating pub after sunset, the only place where you can get alcoholic beverages, its a fun thing to do.
