We had the best time staying here. I couldn't recommend the hotel enough. The staff were incredible after we arrived early due to some unforeseen Covid travel issues. We were offered a room to freshen up whilst we waited for our room to be ready for check in. Check in was smooth and easy. In fact everything seemed to run like clockwork even with the difficulties of Covid restrictions. We felt nothing would be to much trouble to ask about.
The room was incredible and so comfortable. An incredible bed that thoroughly refreshed us every night after big days exploring.
The rooms are well appointed, clean and quiet. The grounds are simply beautiful and an amazing place just to wander.
We actually felt we didn't do the place justice and wished we had had more time just relaxing at the Hotel. Thanks so much for an incredible 6 days.

Dear peterwZ6364MA,

Thank you for writing such a wonderful review and for recommending us so highly! What a crazy morning it was after the lockdown anouncement in Perth. I remember you arriving early morning and I was so happy we had a spare room for you to rest until your room was ready.

I am delighted to read how much you enjoyed your time here and will pass on your kind comments to our team!

We hope to see you again next time you are in WA!

Warm regards,

Maike and the Team @ Basildene Manor

We had a one night stay here, luckily just before the lockdown and it really was a treat to be able to stay in such a beautiful hotel with the most amazing grounds. Ben greeted us warmly and was a pleasure throughout our stay. He was very kind when letting us know that the government recommendations had changed and we were required to wear masks. (We were very impressed that the remotes in the rooms were in sealed paper bags after being sanitised and there were sanitising stations throughout the hotel.) Ben also gave us 2 scones with beautiful homemade jam to take with us. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, well cooked and beautifully attended by a lovely lady. My husband definitely appreciated the coffee machine! There were roos and birds to be seen from the breakfast room too. I have read previous reviews about kids spoiling the atmosphere and I would agree that it is not a place for children. The gardens and house are so peaceful that it would be a shame to have anything spoil the serenity!

We recently had a fabulous four night stay at Basildene Manor in Margaret River. The Manor itself is full of history and wonderfully maintained. The grounds are amazing, hats off to the gardeners. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Manor room, the room was quite small but immaculately maintained with everything we needed. Apparently the rooms all differ in size as they were built in the original Manor and bathrooms have been added. A continental or cooked breakfast is available but other meals need to be sourced off site. The location is an easy drive to all Margaret River has to offer. There is also a pedestrian path into Margaret River Townsite and the other direction to Caves Road. We both really enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend Basildene Manor for a short break in Margaret River.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, our check in time is originally 3 pm, we had a wine tour booked for 12:30 pm, we asked them if we could leave our stuff and car in there while we're on tour - our requests were accommodated and they even processed our check in early so when we came back we just picked up the keys and went straight into our room.
The place is very close to the centre of town about 3 minute drive which is very convenient.
The manor was built in 1912 and it has some interesting history in it, the building is well-maintained and is ageing gracefully! Everything is perfect, from the gardens, the lounges, the room, dining hall - didn't see any flaw at all!
We went during winter and the two lounges downstairs have fireplaces which were very cozy.
We stayed at a room called Malbec which has two windows overlooking the gardens, the room itself is fantastic, it has a minimalist yet fabulous vibe. The bathroom is small but it's a very minor thing.
Breakfast is included in the package, they have a good selection and the dining hall has a great ambiance with glass walls overlooking the gardens.
It is definitely one of the best and would absolutely go back!
Upon check out, they gave us some scones as thanks - it was a very nice touch!
Thank you Basildene Manor for a memorable stay!

If you want beautiful grounds, great rooms and staff who do everything they can to ensure your stay is wonderful then stay here!

After finding ourselves with nowhere to stay we stumbled upon this beautiful hotel. Hotel manager Daniela French and her staff did everything they could to ensure our stay was incredible. Daniela organised restaurant bookings, tours and recommended day trips - what more could you ask for!! We have loved absolutely everything she has organised and suggested and can’t believe how lucky we were to find this gem.

Our room was downstairs ( great if you don’t want to carry luggage upstairs) and was roomy and incredibly comfortable. All rooms are named after wines, a lovely touch. Whilst our room was very close to Reception, we were never bothered by noise of any kind. The beds are also very comfortable.

Breakfast (hot and cold) was delicious and the view was stunning. There are lounge rooms downstairs with fireplaces so you can sit and chat with other guests throughout the day.

If you want old fashioned ambiance set in a beautiful estate then look no further, you won’t be disappointed. The grounds are stunning and the service provided by all here is simply outstanding!

There is no room service or bar here but you won’t miss them. It’s a quick drive into town for a delicious dinner, or you can have take away delivered .

Basildene Manor is an old, historic home and you all feel like you are part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble - service here is simply superb!

Stay here - you will not be disappointed!
