Sent here by airline. The rooms had a lot of prefab concrete. The buffet had a good range of food but was mostly tasteless. The hotel was clean and close to the airport. If you aren't expecting a lot then you will be pleasantly surprised.

We were impressed with the deal we got which included free parking for 21 days. The hotel has been refurbished and it pleasant to stay at. Nice breakfast too and good service. Our room was quiet and suited our needs well

Only 4km to the airport which is great. Kids under 12 stay and eat free if an adult buys a meal. Rooms are clean and offer standard amenities which is probably all that's required for a quick overnight stay be for flying out or starting your NZ trip. The overall hotel is looking a bit tired corridors dated. Lots of parking available close to rooms. Half and half friendly and unfriendly staff. Pricey food for what you get. We only had dinner. Breakfast is from 5am, we left then so didn't make it. There are a few kid friendly things to do nearby check in desk will provide a brochure. Also supermarkets and shops about 2km up the road. Overall a good option and a step up from a motel would stay again if I can get a good deal again.

Due to late flight arrivals, got there around 0030. The guy at Reception seem grump, 2 others were on the phone. Gave me key card, had to get glasses out to call reception to get Security to open door 3, apparently it was my fault the key was not coded.
Next Morning I got served by Lucky at Reception and he was just amazing. I have stayed here before, and is close to Airport. One grumpy guy at Reception should not ruin my visit.

Room tip: Towards the Back of Hotel, lots of parking and Quieter.

The Holiday Inn AKL airport is about 10 min transfer bus ride using the Yellow Bus for $6, check in at reception was polite directed to my room 1108 which was upgraded from my booked room. The room itself was very nice with access to the hotel gardens separate bedroom & lounge and the bathroom in very good condition.. A good relaxing place to stay prior to a long flight to Europe, I used the restaurant which was friendly and convenient food was just okay, breakfast was pretty basic but okay to start the day.. there are many hotels around the area I found the holiday inn to be pretty good for an overnight stay..

Room tip: Can Be a bit expensive
