We were on the Berlin-Kopenhagen bike tour and looked for a nice place in or near Nykobing. Well, the "huset i parken" was a bit off. To be precise, it is about 10 km along one of Denmark's very few roads without a bicycle lane :-( Be also prepared for the fact that there are absolutely no shops or dinner places in the vicinity.
But besides that, this laid-back B&B sits in a historical and stunning park area and offers lots of charme and tranquility. The breakfast must have been one of the absolutely best I have had for a very long time! Everything was home-made, yummy, freshly prepared and tastefully decorated. To be sure, our host deserved a gold-medal for that!
The beds and pillows also were exactly like they should be, especially after a long haul on an unforgiving bike saddle. Unfortunately, our room was not in the charming old building, but in a newer yet architecturally less appealing bungalow. In exchange, it was offering plenty of space and a lovely view of the park. Our son complained a bit about the missing TV set without which however we could easily cope.
There was also interesting locally produced art work and ceramics on display and for sale.
All in all, we can highly recommend the place, as long as you do not mind the remoteness.More
