We biked the Tasman Great Taste Trail, and started our 2nd morning bike ride with coffee and scones here.In addition we had freshly made wraps to take with us for our lunch. The food was yummy. We also talked to some cyclists who cycle here regularly from Richmond to have morning tea

Stopped off for a quick breakfast on the way home from Nelson. The service was great and with a smile. Nothing was a hassle. The food was also very good.

Would definitely come back.

Called in after staying at Nelson before heading down the west coast.

Ordered three lots of eggs and bacon,

took 45 minutes to arrive at table. If this had been back in the UK I would have asked for my money back but I didn't want to look like a moaning Brit!

I could have cooked this several times over in less than 45 minutes. Food was ok but you can't really go wrong with eggs, bacon and toast.

We had a few times Pizza for take-a-way. The dough is very crispy and the topping are very tasty. We rally love the Pizza.

Every couple of months we drive from Blenheim to Nelson. To avoid HW 6 we take the route via Nelson Lakes and this means that after about 2 hours we come to Wakefield. We stop here for coffee. So far we always went to the "tearooms" but to our dissapointment this was closed. So we had to look for an alternative and just oppossite is Chateau Rhubarbe. We had a coffee with carrot cake and a birdseed slice. The coffee was really good and the cakes too. $5 for a large coffee is maybe a bit pricy for a village like Wakefield and they do charge 50 cents for take-a-way. Totally we had to pay $20. There is a small out side area with long tables and benches, so you have to share, not a problem normally but as it is outside and smoking is allowed, we choose the sit inside, This is not really decorated, not much atmosphere. There is not an enormous choice of baking. But it is also more a pizza restaurant than a cafe. Any way, we enjoyed the coffee and for a coffee we would stop here again.
