Description: Deville is an indoor outdoor family friendly licensed cafe. Dining style is casual/eclectic using ingredients from the Nelson region. Great representation of local wines and craft beers.

What a neat place, tucked away on a tiny side street off Trafalgar St, and hidden behind a wrought iron gate, Deville's sheltered courtyard, decorated with glass mosaics is an oasis in the central city. Our brunch eggs were cooked with a twist, scrambled eggs in a tortilla with chorizo and poached eggs served on toasted sourdough with zesty tomatoes. Yum

Their breakfast is amazing, good beer selection, GREAAAAT garden to eat and drink. The breakfast with egg and haloumi cheese is a must eat!

This is a very pleasant place to sit, drink coffee and eat. I had a stack of pancakes that were close to the best I've ever had.

Anywhere.

The coffee is also very good and the service was good.

One note - one of our dining companions had the seafood chowder, which she didn't enjoy. It was more of a fish soup or casserole. It was beautifully presented, but didn't really taste like a chowder to me (or her - she didn't finish it).

Very much recommended.

This seems to be THE meeting place for my son's group of friends and workmates so we often end up here when we are in town. The setting is great; the trees and greenery really make this place feel like you are eating in the garden, and kids and dogs are all welcome, like a real home.
The food and beverages are consistently good, although sometimes a bit limited in choices. The service is sometimes rather slow, depending upon how busy it gets. Worth waiting for but an issue if you are short on time.
Some of the wait staff; temporary ones I hope, need to brush up on their customer service skills. It is not so much about doing the physical part of their jobs but more about their general attitude to customers. They need to be reminded that customers are the people who pay their wages.

A friend and I went to Deville for a coffee. Firstly the place is beautiful and relaxing but the girl that served us rolled her eyes at my friend , I don't think she realized I was watching! Customer service is not this ladies strong point, maybe it's time to rethink her career path? Coffee had a burnt taste not the best.
