The hospitable and English speaking chef Pitus welcomed our gang of seven with an array of classic Catalan dishes. The tapas were wonderful especially the croquettes and escalivida. The main courses included a wonderful entrecot steak, port fillet with cherries and rabbit stew. Our non-meat eater also enjoyed mountain rice with fresh seafood. All in all a delicious meal washed down with drinkable wine. Pitus was the perfect hostess and chef, taking our orders, cooking them and then serving us each of us with our meals. A unique eating experience in a wonderful remote mountain village.

We have been to Cal Lliuret before as we live nearby, but we don't eat out that often (save it for special occasions) and this time came for dinner with five friends.

As usual, the food was made form the very freshest ingredients - a delicious escalivada with goat's cheese, a divine local-mushroom omlette (mushrooms picked that very morning), croquettes made with courgette and mint, yummy and three (!) servings of their delicious patates braves.

I then had the rabbit stew which was both light and tasty at the same time. Our friends either had stews or the famous rice and were delighted with their choices.

For pud I went for the orange flavoured "flam" which was beautiful.

The wines were great, the bread was essential to dip into the braves sauce and a really good time was had by all!

Thank you Pitus, we will be back!

Very nice surprise while coming down from Lles. Small restaurant that specialised in rice dishes. We shared one with vegetables and it was very tasty and the same for the dessert. The downsides were the patatas bravas (not that good), the portion sizes are small and during the high season you'll have to book otherwise it's Q time for about an hour.

This is a fabulous restaurant, based on the freshest local ingredients, in the tiny village of Travesseres.

Choose a range of starters to share like the croquettas of cep, courgette or mint, the escalivada with warm goat's cheese and the perfect patates braves.

Then a stew, a steak or a rice done to perfection.

Home made ice cream, sorbets and more - scrummy.

This is such a find in the tiny village of Travesseres near Martinet in the Catalan Cerdanya.

We stay in Travesseres a lot and are often driving along the N260 to and from the UK and France and love to stop here for lunch if we have the time.

Pitus runs the restaurant almist as a (very hard work!) hobby. Using ingredients grown in their own "hort" or gathered from the mountains (for example ceps, chantrelles etc etc), you get the most tasty, seasonal food.

I particularly like the escalibada with giat's cheese, the ham and the magnificent oatates braves to start with followed by a rice (ceps, local saussage, seafood etc etc) or one of their beautiful stews.

The quality of cooking is such that people cannot believe they are in a tiny village 1,000m plus up!

The wine list is good too.

We will be returning time and time again!
