The room we had was spacious and had good facilities ... Usual coffee/tea and small fridge. But, added to this was a microwave and toaster, which gave us more options for food. There was also a towel warmer ... A first for us, and we travel regularly. There are not many options in town, but there's no need to go out as the West Coaster has THE BEST pepperoni pizza's I've had in a very long time. We were hungry and ordered two ... Great price 2 for $25! But they were huge! Family sized ... so the microwave came in handy for the next nights dinner. As for the beds ...ours was a little too soft, but it did the trick for two nights.

Basic accommodation but still comfortable for one night. Not the kind of pleasant motel where you can stay for more than a night. Wi-fi only available if bought from the reception. Price was reasonable (around 60€ in November). Location is quite close (walking distance) to the city centre or the railway station.

Great room and great service. Manager was very friendly and kitchen served us beautiful pizza. Bed friendly and room clean and comfy. I'd definitely stay again! Undercover parking is so handy in the weather. Love the view from the room. The river is so relaxing.

We arrived after a long, wet road trip along endless winding and narrow roads the brightly lit motel was a welcoming beacon in an otherwise lifeless town.
Agree with other reviewers, the manager, boss, owner or whoever he is could work on people skills. While he spent ages checking is in, I asked about the restaurant. Only to be snapped back at "I will explain when Im done". Yes, you do have to make bookings for an empty restaurant, who would have thought, and get there early as it closes at 7.30. Oh, and you have to book for a buffet breakfast as well, for "catering " purposes. We opted for the take away menu available in the room. Again, grumpy service on the phone to order, even though that is how we were instructed to place order.
The pizza was actually quite nice and generous size for the price.
Rooms are dated, mattress need renewing, and dont bother looking forward to a nice shower, it wont happen, especially if you are in second. Not enough hot water to last for even one.

I visited on two occasions, the recent being this year and the last two years prior. I met the manager of the place twice, both times he was surly, unhelpful and just want your money out of your cold hands. He is nice enough when you are just doing a simple hotel check in/out, but beyond this, his other side comes out. I write this review after a few months to ensure I'm not reviewing in the heat of the moment.

The rooms are ok (gets an extra star for this), but they are getting a bit dated. The big problem I have with this place is the the restaurant. Apparently you need to reserve a table early at a specific time and then you'd find the danky, windowless restaurant empty. (The bar area is nicer with a fireplace). But you can't sit anywhere you want, all very regimented. The menu is limited. The steak was cremated (asked for med-rare). No more steaks left. Refunded just $10 of $34 because i had fries and a few bits of lettuce.

The manager is downright rude; how he end up in the "hospitality" industry is beyond me and would not refund the meal after two attempts of reasoning with him.

If you want to eat, take the short stroll across the bridge to Silver Hills motel, and see the much bigger menu, better quality food, fantastic floor-ceiling views of Queenstown's mountains and food that are actually cooked properly.

I've stayed in town on multiple occasions since, staying elsewhere, so the place has already lost more income to keep $24 for the leather-shoe-on-a-plate. There are friendlier hotels and restaurants in Queenstown, don't let this place spoil your stay, book and eat elsewhere in town.

Room Tip: All much the same
