If you are travelling down south and want a break from it all, Lake Alford Park is a great choice. There is a plentiful supply of benches from which you can sit, relax and recharge. The park is spacious, and the lake itself is full of birdlife (Ibis, ducks, geese and swans). The birdlife alone makes this well worth visiting. Highly recommended (PS the Gympie mining museum is within the same park area).
