Recently we had a 2 x night stay at Windows on Bicheno. The accommodation was amazing, it was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. We stayed in the Sunrise king room which has a private balcony to take in the amazing sea views. The bathroom was huge with a large walk in shower and spa bath. The shared kitchen and living area, again was immaculate. Doria, our host, served the most beautiful food each morning for breakfast, taking into account any dietary requirements. We were instructed to leave our dishes and all was put back in order before returning to our room to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the fantastic view. Doria was an attentive, but not intrusive host. We would highly recommend a stay at Windows on Bicheno for the quiet location, wonderful views and superb accommodation.

Room Tip: Both rooms have wonderful sea views

We wanted two nights in the Bicheno/Coles Bay/Swansea area and reviewed pretty much every accommodation option on Tripadvisor and direct websites. Obviously, Saffire Freycinet is the standout but the tariff was prohibitive, particularly when we wanted two bedrooms. However, the other option we kept coming back to was Windows on Bicheno so we booked it.
The accommodation is the top floor of a three level house (lots of stairs) and comprises two large ensuited king bedrooms which share a living/dining/kitchenette area. The bedrooms are mirror images of each other and have plenty of closet space, two armchairs and an occasional table, a desk and TV. The bathrooms are huge and have a walk-in shower and separate spa bath. If looking at a photo of the house from the street, the Sunrise bedroom is on the left and the Sunset bedroom is on the right. The room in the middle is the shared space and the tower thingy is the stairwell. All three rooms have balconies overlooking the bay. The place is immaculate and the fairies come in to tidy up while you're out. You're not allowed to clean up the breakfast stuff and don't even think about touching the dishwasher !
On the subject of breakfast, it's included in the tariff and is quite large. We're lunch people and a big breakfast is something we rarely have but, if you're staying here, you're having it ! So - we did the buttercup thing and, dutifully, ate the excellent fare which was presented to us both mornings.
We had booked the whole top floor so we had it all to ourselves. It's very private and quiet and we both slept very well. It would also suit two couples travelling together or a family. Not sure how it would be if you had to share the living area with strangers. It certainly wouldn't suit me but I guess you could always escape to your bedroom and its balcony.
The whole place is very luxurious but then it needs to be as it is expensive relative to comparable places we stayed at during our two weeks in Tassie. Owner, Doria, offerred us a discount of $50 per bedroom per night because we booked the whole floor and there were only two of us. That dropped the rate from $600 to $500 per night. Our luxurious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, living/dining/kitchenette apartment right on Salamanca Place with views over the waterfront in Hobart was $365 per night (Sullivans Cove Dockside Salamanca Apartments). Our equally luxurious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, living/dining/kitchenette apartment right on the Tamar River in Launceston was $321 per night (Peppers Seaport Resort). Both were walking distance from everything we wanted including a range of wonderful restaurants and activities. Windows on Bicheno is also walking distance from everything in Bicheno but then everything in Bicheno is walking distance from everything else in this odd little hamlet.
Relative costs aside, Windows on Bicheno is a lovely place to stay and is highly recommended.

I recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at Windows on Bicheno and I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the accomodation. The suite we were in was spotlessly clean and very spacious with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The king size bed was comfortable and the ensuite was huge with a spa bath as well. The kitchen was more than adequate and beautifully appointed. Doria has obviously put a great deal of thought into providing her guests with 5 star comfort. On top of all that, the breakfast that Doria cooked for us was delicious - and set us up to spend the day exploring this glorious part of Tasmania. I recommend this accomodation and will definitely stay here again if I am fortunate enough to return to beautiful Bicheno

Had the opportunity to spend 2 nights at "Windows on Bicheno". The accommodation was outstanding with big comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooms provided good privacy and beds were very comfortable. Large kitchen and dining area was ideal for group meals and very comfortable breakfasts.

The food supplied was outstanding and Doria was fantastic in accommodating all dietary requirements. You certainly will not go hungry.

Our host Doria was so friendly, pleasant and so helpful. Almost like you were catching up with an old friend.

The real winner here is the view - you wake up to a wonderful uninterrupted panoramic view of the coast. this stunning panorama continues in the lounge area. There are wooden blinds that can be moved to one side to convert from private sleeping to sweeping view. I kept the blinds open and also enjoyed the night lights on the fishing boats in the bay. Just the best place to watch the morning go past while enjoying tea and breakfast.

Have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation. You will have a nice central base to sight-see from and a very friendly host to assist you.

Room Tip: Both bedrooms are wonderful

Windows on Bicheno is the only 5 star B & B in Bicheno and the best place to stay on your trip to Tasmania. Our room had a king size bed, spa bath, beautiful shared sitting room and a large deck overlooking the ocean. On our first morning there, we were treated to the spectacular view of a large pod of dolphins swimming by around the bay. In the cooler months whales can be seen swimming here too.The weather was beautiful. While the rest of the Island was in clouds and showers of rain, Bicheno was warm and gorgeous. A perfect place to relax in. The sunsets from the balconies are spectacular as they look out over Waubs Bay, which also has a small protected beach to swim in. Access to freshly caught seafood and nearby wineries are complemented by the boat trip from Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet National Park. Our time here with host, Doria and her fabulous gourmet breakfasts, was the highlight of our trip to Tasmania. We highly recommend booking your next escape with her, here, at Windows on Bicheno.

Room Tip: There are two rooms in this exclusive boutique B & B. Both have equal views and amenity and are lovely to stay in.
